Fundamental civil liberties are under threat, not only by those who seek to destroy our society, but also by those who have been charged with the task of safeguarding it. We are possibly entering a period of mom

2、entous constitutional change and legislative upheaval. Therefore, it seems to me that the 21st century looks set to be both an exciting and crucial time in which to embark upon legal study. My desire to study Law stems from a growing fascination with World events, as well as with the minutiae of our

3、 day-to-day existence. As Helena Kennedy QC states The Law is the bedrock of a nation; it tells us who we are, what we value, who has power, and who hasnt. Almost nothing has more impact on our lives, (Just Law, 20_): this, I believe, defines the importance of Law. I am stimulated by present-day eth

4、ical considerations which may impact upon the legal framework of this country: Everyday Law (Aviva Golden, 2000), for example, stipulates that marital union may take place only between two, consenting adults of the opposite sex; yet, when marriage harbours civil as well as religious implications, is

5、 it right to discriminate? How is it possible for one to reliably arbitrate the point at which abortion should be deemed illegal? Both are among issues which I find to be perplexing and fascinating in equal measure. I am interested also in the fundamental components of legal practise; the exposition

6、 of complex drafts (such as marriage or business contracts), being something which I feel would be facilitated by a firm and comprehensive grasp of the English language. I would say, in addition, that I am a confident and articulate public speaker - exemplified by my participation in the 2022 House

7、debating team - and one who regularly takes pleasure in assuming the role of Devils Advocate for the purpose of arguing controversial points of view, irrespective of personal bias. My work experience with the Crown Prosecution Service in Gloucester really fired and reinforced my enthusiasm for a car

8、eer in Law. I had the opportunity to shadow administrators, solicitors and office clerks, observing critical procedures at every level: from case-work and preparation, all the way through to the excitement of litigation in the Crown Courts. This enabled me to lay to rest any sensationalised preconce

9、ptions (such as those arising from TV dramatisations) in favour of a more rounded insight into the legal field; backed up, of course, with Brian Heaps The Way In, and Philip Kennys Studying Law - both of which have provided valuable insights. It has also invested me with some notion of what to expec

10、t from the very wide range of career opportunities currently available within the legal domain. With respect to my extra-curricular life, I work as a sales assistant for Maltby Books in Cheltenham. I am also the recent recipient of a Millennium Volunteers Award of Excellence for having contributed 2

11、00 hours to my local community - to whit, the Pates School Library, and Cheltenham Childrens Theatre Association. As regards the latter, I am currently director, secretary and Committee member of three years standing, in addition to having acted lead roles in several Summer productions. I also playe

12、d the part of Richard Greatham in a recent Pates 6th form production of No?l Cowards Hay Fever. All these activities have demanded a significant degree of sustained commitment, integrity and competence; in addition, they have afforded me the opportunity to develop administrative skills, computer lit

13、eracy, and the ability to communicate ideas to people under a variety of circumstances. I would say that I have acquired valuable skills and experience as a result of these ventures; qualities which I hope would contribute significantly to a promising career studying Law at university. 15、的影響的。 4、出版刊物 學(xué)校內(nèi)的刊物也是學(xué)校實力的重要展示之一,雖然大都只對內(nèi)發(fā)售,但是文章的來源也是學(xué)校,能夠直接反映學(xué)校內(nèi)部學(xué)生和老師的學(xué)術(shù)和研究的實力,畢竟一篇優(yōu)質(zhì)文章的炮制,是受到各方面的影響的。 5、熱門專業(yè) 即便是綜合大學(xué),也不能夠保證各學(xué)科全面發(fā)展,肯定是會有高有低的,確認(rèn)一個專業(yè)是否是熱門,可以看學(xué)校投入的資源的多少、專業(yè)的排名和聲譽,進(jìn)入熱門的專業(yè)學(xué)習(xí),大家會更有優(yōu)勢。 6、入學(xué)要求 學(xué)校和專業(yè)的入門門檻,也是大家不能夠忽視的地方,畢竟選擇是雙向的,大家在考察對比學(xué)校的時候,學(xué)校也會對申請者進(jìn)行篩選,只有滿足了基本的要求,才能夠有資格進(jìn)入學(xué)校開始學(xué)習(xí)。 7、軟件服務(wù) 除了各

16、項硬件的考察,留學(xué)生還需要注意學(xué)校提供的配套服務(wù),囊括醫(yī)療服務(wù)、心理服務(wù)和學(xué)生服務(wù)等方面,這些會對學(xué)生的歸屬感帶來比較大的影響。 加拿大留學(xué)怎么申請獎學(xué)金 一、獎學(xué)金種類 1、獎學(xué)金 獎學(xué)金在頒發(fā)上跟別的是不一樣的評選標(biāo)準(zhǔn),也不單單是看學(xué)生的學(xué)術(shù)成績,像是學(xué)生在運動比賽或者綜合素質(zhì)等等這些內(nèi)容,其實都是它的評定標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。 2、補助金 這一類在評選上一般都是看一些很確定的項目,比如說學(xué)生是否有在其他國家來完成學(xué)術(shù)研究這些等等。并且它在審核上也會看學(xué)生的財政是否有需要,或者是看學(xué)術(shù)以外的內(nèi)容,像是義工經(jīng)歷這樣的活動。也就是學(xué)生有可能可以得到多項的補助金。 3、助學(xué)金 助學(xué)金一般是給那些很需要資金幫助,否則難以完成留學(xué)的學(xué)生,它其實跟補助金是類似的標(biāo)準(zhǔn),也都是遵照學(xué)生的財政需要,還有遵照學(xué)術(shù)性以外的內(nèi)容來評比的。 4、助研性的獎學(xué)金 這個跟普通的獎學(xué)金不太一樣,是看學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)成績或者是研究能力的,并且學(xué)生也必須在校內(nèi)工作,但學(xué)校還是會遵照學(xué)生所工作的時間給他們一些報酬,一般是幫助教授做一些研究這樣的工作。 二、如何申請 要拿到這里的獎學(xué)金,學(xué)生得要夠一定的條件,畢竟獎學(xué)金的發(fā)放大多是給成績比較好的學(xué)生,所以在申請時學(xué)生要拿著自己的托福雅思、GRE等
