1、1. Introduction I have been working in Xitun primary school for 4 years in Yanqing district and I am in charge of English work as well as an information technology teacher. I found that the students were not good at mastering the words when I worked in my school. The words that have been taught seem
2、ed not to meet before. Therefore the mistakes that the students mastered the sentences was very serious. There is a competetion of words in both Yanqing county and Beijing municipal, and there is a final examination in every semester, I found that the students were not good at mastering the words. I
3、 didnt know why the result liked that, through listening and watching the class as well as questionnaire for students I found the casue, so I think that we should change the teaching method that is to shift trouditional teaching method to teaching method under modern information technology circumsta
4、nce. What I am aiming to do is to impress the students words, and let them master the words that they meet as possible as they can. Under coorperation with English teachers who wording in my school we make some attempts, experience and research in different stage of grade and different class in the
5、same grade. It is mainly to experient modern information technology in learning new words stage, in consolidating new words stage, in reviewing words stage, in general words exercise stage. Through four weeks experiments we made some progress. .2. Subject DescriptionThe students are a group of rural
6、 school of Yanqing county they are from grade three to six. Each grade has two class so we can make a comparison easily.Students have learnt english for several years since they enter the gate of Xitun primary school. They have four English classes a week. Besides English, they study Chinese, Mathem
7、aticth, information technology, P.E. art and music and so on.Their english words were limited very much, most of them can not remebmer more than 50. Some students wouldnt like to learn english because of many many english words.3. Problems3.1 Discovery of the problem.There are six grades 28 classes
8、altogether in my school. I am in charge of english teaching, so I always check the effects of english teaching. When I have children who are from grade 3 to grade 6 read the text that they have learnt. Out of my expectation most of them couldnt read because of unfamiliarness words. And as said above
9、, There is a competetion of words in both Yanqing county and Beijing municipal, and there is a final examination in every semester, I found that the students were not good at mastering the words. So I went into class to listen and watch the teachers teaching. All of them used the picture to input ne
10、w words, consolidated new words, review and pactice words. Students was little interesting in picture which they could see every class in every day. And the picture and the words didnt be remained or impressed in their mind.3.2 Problem analysis.3.2.1 Cause analysis4. Apart from english teacher nobod
11、y can advice them how to read and pronounce the words when they felt confusion with words. (cai)5. There are too many other subjects homework and there is little time to remember english words. Otherwords they feel tired very much.6. There are so many words and the words seems to be similar, they fe
12、el confusion easily. 7. they dont know why they were going to sleep when they read and remember english words.8. What the teacher checked the students words in the way of examing paper or face to face makes students nervous.9. The remembered words was easily forgetted when they didnt use it in a cou
13、ple of days. 10. Teacher always use picture to input, consolidate new words. It is always to read read and read.These problem had been troubling me and my colleagues long time. Now I was determined to find a solution to the problem. I thought for a long time and brainstormed with teachers of english
14、 and reference some books. I used four methods of analysis, the analytic method, cause analysis, questions and brainstorm.I studied for a long time to solve this problem,and a questionnaire which had been thought for a long time was conducted to ask about reasons for studentspoor English words. Afte
15、r analyzing the result of the questionnaire, we got to know what we should to do for the students. I asked english teacher to adapt new methods to teach check them, not only to draw their attention to learn and remember english words, but also foster their interesting in english.lack of circumstance
16、 of learning english wordsThe students made their suggestions carefully. Some of them said that they have few chances to review or learn english words after english class. English is foreign language for Chinese people most part of teacher didnt know english not even childrens parents, apart from te
17、achers of english nobody can direct children to review or learn english words. So we copy and make CAI(computer assistance of instuctor) to computer, and the computer roon is always opened in working day. after english class students can go computer room to review or learn words. 3.2.3 Dull atmosphe
18、re and lack of interactiveA few students admitted that the English class was sometimes dull. Only repeating, listening, reading. Some students can pronounce very well following the teacher but they didnt pay more attention to the words so they cant speak or know well when they are alone. Moreover so
19、me parts of students cant follow the speed of the teacher but they dare not speak it up because they are afraid of teachers angry and are blamed. It is difficult for the students to contribute to the class in the dull atmosphere. So we bring students to the computer room let them learn or review eng
20、lish words through computer. We make or download some CAI for words. The CAI creates stuation or cartoon to motivate the students interesting. 3.2.4 Less involvement and less self-teachingSome of the students, especially the students who are poor at English felt that they were not involed in class.
21、So I try to let students self-teaching through computer, let them join the class entirely. According themselves they can repeat several times or just one time. Teacher just walk aroud and solve the problem that students submit. Like this self-teaching, every student can involve the class through ope
22、rating computer, they will not feel dull and afraid. 3.2.5 Lack of interesting how the teacher makes the class lively is very important to the class efficiency. According to the students suggestion, I leted teacher change their teaching methods and try to go to computer room to have english class. U
23、sing computer game to review words and cartoons for new words and so on.Braintorm3.3 BrainstormWhen I was engaged in the problem, I consulted my tutor Liu and my colleagues. They often talked about the problem I have met. And they gave me a lot of advice and help so that I pondered the problem more
24、deeply and carefully. After a lengthy problem analysis, I began to launch a project to solve the problem.11. Project objective.In order to expand students vocabulary and let them reach the number of the words so that they can master the sentences and paragraph. My research objective is to increase s
25、tudents interest in English to learn english words through modern information technology and have children learn english by playing. Students can read and understand the text fluently, they can get high mark in words competetion and pass the every words examinations easily. The best is that children
26、 would like be friends with english.12. Project hypothesisIt is hypothesized that students english words is emphasized by modern information technology. If they can master more and more vocabularies, they will have confidence to study English. I had teachers use different teaching method to teach st
27、udents in their classes. For example, have english class in computer room let children teach themselves, played words games, watching cartoons, self-test and so on. The teacher just like an expert to be consulted and control the time. Students will feel ease and happy, they must be like to work and
28、the words must be impressed deeply in their mind no more long time. 13. Project rationale6.1 The importance of english words .English words teaching is an important aspect as well as a difficult point in primary school stage. Words learning is the base of foreign language learning as well as importa
29、nt aspect. It will be have no way to talk about other knowledge without words learning. The new “ English course standard” indicated that the quantity of words are much more than the old one. Therefore it is a significant thing in new situations. Pupils ability of abstraction is very low, they alway
30、s feel dull and tired with dull words teaching, then they cant concentrate their mind to study.and they need advice, experience and surport offering by teacher. According to this teacher should motivate pupils multi-sense and existed experience, through different teaching method enrich childrens dir
31、ect experience and feeling to make them get lively impression. Therefore it is important to improve the interestiong of words teaching in teaching words stage. Teacher should adopt all kinds of teaching method as much as they can according teaching content, teaching objectives and the characters of
32、children and so on. Adopting modern information technology to stimulate students more sense organ to join the class in order to understand and memory the words deeply and well. 6.2 The importance of modern imformation technology.As information technology is rapidly developed, traditional teaching me
33、thod faces challenge of education informationlized. “new course standard”(syllabus) emphasis that it should make the best of information technology and internet while course resource is opened up. Computer and internet technology create a condition of individual study and self teaching. Computer and
34、 internet are as the core of modern informaiton technology offer an unlimited potential.6.3 The importance of informaiton technology in english teaching. Game is welcomed by children, teaching in games is an effective form to help students to learn words and students would be willing to accept it. I
35、t is fit for the childrens character of briskness and movement. Games are not only have childre master and use new words well in easiest atmosphere but also train them interesting in learning English words. In review and practise words stage teacher should design games for children to have childre l
36、earning by playing. Lots of facts proveed that computer game is the most welcomed by now, and many others can not carry out without comuter or can not implement easily. Students like cartoon and challenge, accorrding to this teacher can make or download many games of English words then have children
37、 do wrods game as possible as they can. It is proved that the brain will be excited by stimulating with multi-media. A word is designed to cartoon, it has not only still picture and word itself that is spelling but also sound and changeable video. It must be difficult that if teacher want to set a s
38、cene to illustrate most words using other tools without computer.I would like the students to feel that English words are not difficult but interesting, what understanding and remembering English words is a happy thing, just like playing. 6.4 The classroom managementTraditional english class like ot
39、her subject class, teacher was at the front of the blackborad, children sat down their seats, the teacher dominated activities in whole class. Apart from the different textbook which was taught by different teacher and some learning materials students would not feel any fresh things. As concern as t
40、he english class there will be nothing but that strange and confusing language. If englsih teacher can change thus teaching model and teaching method. We all know that a teacher is a person who plays many roles in the class. Such as manager, controller, prompter, instructor and so on. As an english
41、teacher we should have children like the subject and have them be willing to learn english. 6.4 Target and control groups There are total 28 classes in my school, childrens level is different. In order to collect information and carry out easily I chose the students who are in class one grade three.
42、 And the class two grade three is the control group. Four methods of analysis were adopted, the analytic method, cause analysis, questions and brainstorm.Under the direction ofrationale, I am going to use four units which are the existing English textbook published by Beijing Normal University as th
43、e material. Having english class in computer room, there are so many things that I must pay attention to the when designing the tasks: a) To explain and model how to operate the computer, b) To check and maintain the computer in order to assure children to learn, c) To monitor the students learn and
44、 practice, d) To have the software for class be ready, e) To control the students noise and mood, and f)To design different type of tasks to foster the students interest in english and master the words.7. Project designI will spend four weeks in implementing my project. Under the help of the warm-he
45、arted colleagues and the active corporation of students, I reached the expected goal through designed the teaching plans and related activities. To foster students interesting in learning english word.Introduction: This unit is mainly to describing people and
53、 animals. Twengy core new words will be importance. That is really a large number of words, how can I have students know these words? I think that students will be confused by these picture if I show them one by one. So I let them point to the picture which they want to know, and click it if they wa
54、nt to ponounce it. Give them several minutes then they can check themselves through playing games, “飛碟射擊賽”、“描述人、物我最行”. Freely atmosphere of learning and interesting word games will arouse students interesting and increase their ability of teaching self.Week 3 Activity 3Unit 9 Hot soup!Aim: Let stude
55、nts have a first deeply impression of the words through the courseware. Then master the words by the means of playing game. To foster students interesting in learning english word.Introduction: This unit is about asking and answering questions about food. There are sixty new core words in this unit.
56、 Children have learnt the unit 7 which is mainly about food, so they can learn this unit like unit 7. I believe they can do it well just give them more several minutes. Finally they can check themselves through playing games, “飛碟射擊賽”、“我是一個(gè)美食家”. Week 4 Activity 4Unit 10 Mockys storeAim: Let students

58、r research, so they have known what they should do when I give them the courseware and word games. 8.
