1. He was so hard on me last night。 He was so hard on me last night簡單地說就是他昨晚對我不好,可能是對你發(fā)脾氣,或是對你態(tài)度很差。
I didn't do it well in the test. It's so hard for me. 例如我同學考試沒考好,我就可以安慰他“No hard feelings, I believe you are gonna ace it next time?! I have a hard time with my girlfriend。 Have a hard time with somebody就是說和某個人的關(guān)系處的特別不好,特別是形容情侶或是夫妻之
You will have a hard time getting a ticket。 Why do you have such a hard time admitting it?(要你承認錯誤有那么困難嗎?)3. You're getting on my nerves。
、,你不高興就可以說“You get on my nerve”。這句話的意思跟jump on my back差不多。Jump on my back就是說某人惹到你了,試想如果有一個人在你背上跳啊跳的,那會是什么樣的感覺?所以如果有人去惹到你,你就可以警告他說“You are jumping on my back!”。4. Get off my back, I didn't sleep last night。
、my back. I didn't sleep last night”。 因為你老板可能會跟你說“Then get out of my face, I don't want to see you again”。5. Cut me some slack!/Give me some slack! 其實這句話跟Get off my back是一模一樣的。 6. Don't let your father down。
Why are you feeling down?或是Why are you feeling blue?7. I don't give a shit./I don't give a damn。
8. People have dirty looks on their faces。 有一次同學跟我說他來上學的時候路上塞車,車上的人臉都很臭,他就是說“People have dirty looks on their face”。 9. Tough luck, but shit happens。
例如本句shit happens就是那種令人不爽的事發(fā)生了?;蚴窍裎彝瑢W有一次就跟我說“I did shit in the test(就是說他考的很爛很爛)”。 10. I got the short end of the stick。
、pizza,它是已經(jīng)分好一塊塊的,大家一哄而上,結(jié)果剩下最后一塊最小的上面又剛好沒topping的pizza,那個還沒拿的人就開玩笑地說了這一句“I got the short end of the stick”。In the diminishing daylight they went along the level roadway through the meads, which stretched away into gray miles, and were backed in the extreme edge of distance by the swarthy and abrupt
