Raise a question: Whats your favorite season? Ask students to look at the four pictures on the screen and tell me which season they like most. 2. Ask students to give one typical festival in each season , though many festivals happen during each season. For example:Spring-Qingming FestivalSummer-Dragon Boat FestivalAutumn-Mid-Autumn FestivalWinter-Lantern FestivalStep: Fast-Reading1. Ask students to read the text quickly and match the pictures with the festivals.2. Lead students to look at the first festival, the Lantern Festival.Students have to answer the questions as follows:(1. When is the Lantern Festival ?(2. What do people do on this day ?(3. Whats the special food for the festival ?(4. Are there any stories about it ?Answers:(1. The Lantern Festival falls on the 15th day of the 1st lunar month, usually in February or March in the solar calendar.(2. This days important activities are watching lanterns and guessing lantern riddles.(3. Sweet dumplings are the special food on this day.(4. There are quite many stories about it3. Look at the second festival ,called the Dragon Boat Festival , in the same way.4. Before going to the third festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival, show a short poem of Su Shi (水調歌頭-明月幾時有) Ask students to read the poem aloud together and try to guess which festival this poem is about.5.
