Unit 6 Im going to study computer science.Section A(1a-1c)Teaching aims: 1. Language and knowledge objective:1) Master the following words:grow up, computer programmer, cook, doctor, engineer, violinist, driver, pilot, pianist, scientistMaster the following sentence patterns: What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a basketball player. How are you going to do that? Im going to practice basketball every day. 2) Understand the following grammar: grasp the composition of the general future tense; 3) Express what will be done in the ordinary future tense. 2. Technical goals: understand the dialogue about the ideal job of yourself and others by using the be going to structure, and can use this structure to conduct conversation on related topics.3. Emotions, attitudes, values, goals: everyone has his or her own dreams and plans for the future, and hes full of vision for what he wants to do in the future. People often talk about their ideas, therefore, through the study of this unit should be content to stimulate students learning initiative and interest in learning, so that they have the ideal, and for the realization of their ideals and efforts.Teaching Key Points and Difficulties1. Teaching Key Points :1) Learn the composition of the future tense.2) Learn the key sentence patterns that appear in this class. Use them in different situations and use the general tense in the future.2. Teaching difficulties: express your future plans in the general future tense.Teaching Procedures. Lead-in 1. Introduce yourself when you were young, and then sum up some English expressions that you have learned before: teacher, nurse, doctor, basketball player, runner, actor, actress 2. Ask the students what they want to do, so as to draw a sentence pattern: What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a basketball player/ 3. Students look at slides and guide students to ask questions about their favorite careers. . Presentation1. Play slides and show some professional pictures to guide the students to learn some new professional terms:computer programmer, cook, engineer, violinist, pianist, pilot, scientist, 2. Let the students look at the big screen to learn and memorize these new words.3. Tell Ss to rank them 1-12. 1 is most interesting, 12 is least interesting. 2. Try to remember the new words. . Game 1. Show some pictures in the big screen. 2. Let Ss guess what he/she does. 3. Let Ss try their best to guess the job. See which group is the best. . Listening 1. T: Tell Ss to read the words of jobs in the chart. Make sure they know the meaning of the words and sentences. 2. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and fill in the blanks. 3. Play the recording again. Check the answers with the Ss. 4. Play the recording again. Ss listen and match the jobs with activities. 5. Show the answers on the big screen. . Pair work 1. Let Ss read the model with a partner. 2. Use the information in the chart of 1b. Ask and answer
