Elicit the story: The Kings New Clothes.4. Ask Ss“Do you know the story?”, give Ss five pictures and make them put the pictures in order.5. Check the answer.Step 2 Presentation1. Play the tape, students listen and think the following questions:How many people are there in the story? Who are they?2. Play the tape, students listen to the first paragraph and think the questions:a.What does the king like?b.Does the king have much money?c.What does the king want?3. Ss work in groups and discuss the questions.4. Choose some representatives from each group to answer the questions.5. Check the answer and elicit: rich, clothes, make.for.6. Model the words, students listen and repeat.7. Ask students to make sentences using“make.for”.8. Play the first paragraph again, then ,T reads the paragraph.9. Choose some students to read the paragraph.10.Continue the tape, students listen to the second paragraph and think the questions:a.Who can make new clothes for the king?b.What do the cheats say?11. Ss work in groups and discuss the questions.12. Choose some students to answer.13. Check the answer and the pronunciation of clever and foolish.“Here are two new words, can you read them?”14. Ask students“Do you like the cheats? If you read well, you can get one happy face.If you read without the books, you can get two happy faces.And if you use your body language, you can get three happy faces.
