1.My name is Xiao Hong. I am 15 years old. I study at No. 14 middle school. My favorite subject is English. I have made a habit of reading English aloud every morning for about 30 minutes (half an hour), and I like reading books. I think reading English every day can improve my study. Besides learning, we have many interesting activities. The life in school is colourful. 2.The Asian Games will be held in Guangzhou next year. We should do something good for Guangzhou. For example, we should offer our seats to the old when we are on the bus. We had better help the old to cross the road. We should not throw rubbish everywhere, and should put it into the trashbin. When playing in the park, we should behave politely. For example, we should not damage the trees or flowers. We should not sleep on the bench. 3.Our school is not very big but its clean and beautiful. You see, in front of the gate, there is a 400-meter runway on the left. On the right hand side, there is a swimming pool. When you go into the school, you can first see our Classroom Building. On the left, there is a big library. In it there are all kinds of books, newspapers and magazines. You can go there to read books, do your homework or even surf the Internet. On the right, there is a building for experiments. There are trees and flowers around the school buildings. When you study here, you will feel comfortable. 4.New Year again. Our class is going to hold an English party. The classmates are busy preparing for it. Xiao Mei and Wang Dong are cleaning the windows. Wei Hong is writing a wall newspaper. He is writing “Happy New Year” on the blackboard. His handwriting is very good. Wu Lin is using coloured paper to make flowers while Chen Ming is picking things up and put them into the box. They are trying their bestdecorate the classroom. 5.Some students dont study hard at present. They sleep during the class. I think there are three main reasons. First, they arent interested in some subjects, such as Chinese and English. Second, they dont listen to the teachers carefully, and dont work hard at their lessons. Third, they spend a lot of time playing games or surfing the Internet. In my opinion, study is one of our task. We should spend most of our time on study. If we went to be useful to the society when we grow up, we students should study hard. 6.Im glad to hear that youd like to come to Guangzhou for the Asian Games. Im sure it will be a great experience for you to travel in Guangzhou. There are many places of interest in Guangzhou, such as the Five Rams Statue, the Guangzhou Museum and so on. As we all know, many kinds of local foods in Guangzhou are not only cheap but also delicious. Guangzhou is famous for its dim sum. You can also travel around the city by renting a bike. I hope you can enjoy yourself when you are in Guangzhou. 7.I know you want to visit a foreign city. I think you can consider visiting Sydney in Australia. Its really a beautiful country. Its not very cold in winder, so you can even wear pretty skirts and T-shirts. If you love swimming, you can go to the beach. You can enjoy the sunshine and run by the sea. You can also visit the Wild Zoo. Also you will have a chance to take a lot of photos with koalas and kangaroos. I think visiting Australia is fun and you will have a good time there. 8.I have a lot of things to do in my free time. Usually I play sports after school. I also like basketball and volleyball very much. Sports help to keep me healthy and study better. I often watch TV or do some reading in the evenings. Sometimes I listen to music for a while. I find it a good way to relax myself. Of course, I can help my parents with the housework at weekends. I clean the house, wash clothes and learn how to cook. Sometimes I go out with friends. Our school Singing & Dancing Club will be opened every Wednesday evening from 7:30 to 10:00. We can go to learn singing and dancing with the help of some musicians and dance teachers there. We dont need to bring any musical instruments, except dancing shoes. The musical instruments there can be played free. Besides, we can make friends there. Would you like to go to the Club with me next Wednesday? 12.Chatting on QQ is getting more and more popular among teenagers. There are some advantages and disadvantages. For example, we can talk freely to our friends. We can quickly send photos or documents. We can also share something happy or unhappy with our friends. But the Internet is not always safe. Something bad may happen to us easily if we meet bad people. If we are deep in QQ chatting, it will waste our time and cause our lack of sleep. Though QQ chatting is fun, we shouldnt spend too much time on it. We should study hard and read more good books in our spare time. 13.I would like to tell you how to get to the Tomb of Nan Yue Emperor. It is near China Hotel.You can take metro Line One or take bus 108, and get off at China Hotel Bus-stop. Walk south about 50 metres and you will see the Tomb of Nan Yue Emperor on your left. 14. On the morning of May the 8th, I went with my friend to the No. 1 Peoples Hospital to see a doctor, because my friend had got a fever and had a cough. In the hospital, we met our English teacher Ms. Zheng. She advised us to stay at home and have a good rest. She also said that she would help us with our lost lessons. I think Ms. Zheng is a very kind teacher. We love her very much. 15. John, there will be a table tennis match at 4:00 this Friday afternoon. It is a match of Class 5 VS our Class. The match will be held in our school gymnasium. Please wear your sports shoes and bring some drinking water with you. And please get there on time. Without it we cannot live a happy life. First, we should eat fruits and vegetables every day. Second, we should drink lots of water. There are no calories in water, so we can drink it without getting fat. Third, a good breakfast can give us energy for studying in the morning. For breakfast, we can have an egg, some bread and a glass of milk. For lunch, we had better have rice, vegetables, meat or fish. Besides, we should do physical exercises in the daytime and have a good sleep at night. 19.In the class meeting of Grade 3 Class 8, there was a discussion on “Should students ride bicycles?” 60% of the students believed that they should. They could keep healthy by riding a bike. Besides, they could save much time on their way to school. Yet 40% of the students disagreed. They thought accidents would easily take place because of the heavy traffic. The roads in Guangzhou were too narrow for so many cars. In my opinion, students should go to school by bike. Staying inside the classrooms nearly all day long, we students have little time to do outdoor exercises. So riding a bike is a good way for us to keep healthy. 20. Attention please. Mr. Smith, one of the most famous professors of the UK, is going to give us a talk about how to learn English well. The talk will start at 2:30 this Wednesday afternoon in the hall of the school.
