Teaching Plan for Unit One Section A (1)Greeting: Hello, everyone! Step I. Language goal (by predications and underlining “will”) Here is a time line. There are four dates. Now; Ten years ago; In ten years and In 50 years. What will be different in your life in ten years?Questions: 1. Will you be at this school in ten years? 2. Will you be still so tall in ten years? 3. Will you be still a boy student in ten years? (隨問答點擊鼠標呈現這些問題。)(學生回答肯定與否并不重要,這些問題只是為了激發(fā)學生參與課堂教學的興趣。)Presentation: How will the world be different in 50 years?Presentations: 1. The helicopter cap will get you around faster and easier than your bike. “直升飛帽”帶著你到處兜風,比騎自行車爽n倍。2. You wont carry a backpack. It will carry you. 你再也不用背背包,背包會背你。3. If you want to go to another continent, youll be able to drive there. 你可以開車去其他大陸。4.The four-legged jeans will make sure you have a place to sit everywhere you go. 穿上四筒褲,你隨時都能坐下歇歇腳。5. Cars will always have to stop for stop signs. 汽車會在停車標志牌前自動停下。6. Your clothes will automatically change themselves to stay in fashion. 衣服時時自動更新不落伍。(隨鼠標點擊逐步呈現圖片和漢語翻譯。這神仙般的未來生活,令人向往。)Step II. Activity 1a Just now, we talked about how the world would be different in the future. Others are talking about it, too. Here are some predictions. Do you agree or disagree? If you agree, please check. (Collect the answers of one student) () 1. People will have robots in their homes.( ) 2. People wont use money. Everything will be free.() 3. Books will only be on computers, not on paper.( ) 4. Kids wont go to school. Theyll study at home on computers.( ) 5. There will only be one country.( ) 6. People will live to be 200 years old.Step II. Activity 1b Now lets listen to the talk between two boys about how the world will be different in the future. After listening, circle the predictions you hear. Here are the predictions. (Present the six predictions on the slides. At the same time, read them to the class.) (To the Class) You are asked to only listen for the first time. (To the Class) You are asked to listen for a second time. Then circle the predictions they talk about on the recording. 1. People will have robots in their homes. 2. People wont use money. Everything will be free.3. Books will only be on computers, not on paper.4. Kids wont go to school. Theyll study at home on computers.5. There will only be one country.6. People will live to be 200 years old.Language points: 1. I dont think people will use money. 我認為人們就不再用錢了。people will use money 是省略了連詞that的賓語從句。當主句是I think結構時,否定的賓語從句中的not要前移到主句。I dont think he will come. 我想他不會來的。2. Do you think everything will be free? 你認為一切都是免費的嗎?句中形容詞free意思是“免費的”。They enjoy free medical care.他們享受免費醫(yī)療。Admission is free for children under 9. 九歲以下兒童免費。3. I think there will be only one country. 我認為將只有一個國家。there will be 是There be句型的拓展,表達“將有”或“將會有”,其中will表示猜測,作“可能;大概”解。This will be the house youre looking for. 這大概就是你找的那所房子了。4. I hope so. 我希望如此。句中so是副詞,意思是“就像那樣;是這樣”,承接前句,以避免重復前面所說過的內容,常與動詞believe,fear,hope, speak,say,suppose,think,guess等以及Im afraid連用。If you want to go home, just say so. 如果你想回家的話,盡管說好了。 Will I need my umbrella? 我需要雨傘嗎? I dont think so. 我不這樣認為。Step III. 1c Oral practice Ask and answer questions about the following predictions. 1. People will have robots in their homes. 2. People wont use money. Everything will be free.3. Books will only be on computers, not on paper.4. Kids wont go to school. Theyll study at home on computers.5. There will only be one country.6. People will live to be 200 years old.Do in this way (Sample) : A: Will people have robots in their homes in 100 years? B: Yes, they will. Robots will do everything for them. Ask students to work in pairs. (As they work, move around the room and give language assistance as needed.) Ask a few pairs to present their conversations to the class.
