Beggerscanearn73,500dollarsonemonthindubai（迪拜）Beggingissurelybigbusiness.AndithasproventobesoinDubai,wherearecentlyarrestedbeggarwasfoundmakingasmuchas270,000dirham(around73,500dollars)amonth.ThebeggarwasamongdozensarrestedbyDubaiMunicipalityinspectors,localmediareported.

Fiftyninebeggarswerecaughtduringthefirstthreemonthsof2016,saidFaisalAlBadiawi（人名）,headofthemarketssectionattheDubaiMunicipality,inastatement.Thosearrestswerepartofacampaigncarriedoutbythemunicipalityincooperationwiththeemirate’spolicetocombatbegginginDubai.“Someofthebeggarshadpassportsissuedwithbusinessortouristvisas,”AlBadiawitoldreporters.“Duringthecampaign,wefoundthatthemajorityofbeggarshadenteredthecountrylegallywithathree-monthvisa,inordertocollectasmuchmoneyastheycouldduringtheirtimehere,”AlBadiawiexplained.Theseizuresshowedthatonebeggarwasmakingabout73,500dollarspermonth.“MoremoneywascollectedonFridayswhenbeggarsstoodinfrontofmosques,”AlBadiawisaid.LocalauthoritiesofDubaihavebeencarryingoutyear-longoperationstocombatbeggingalongthecitystreets.In2015,upto197begging-relatedarrestsweremadeduringananti-beggingcampaignaroundRamadan（齋月）,accordingtoapreviousreportofGulfNews.Police
