不同期待作答模式對(duì)翻譯測(cè)試成績(jī)的影響的開(kāi)題報(bào)告摘要:翻譯測(cè)試是評(píng)估翻譯能力的主要手段之一,但其結(jié)果可能受測(cè)試作答模式的影響。本研究旨在探究不同期待作答模式對(duì)翻譯測(cè)試成績(jī)的影響。研究將采用混合設(shè)計(jì),其中被試將首先接受一些指令和練習(xí)來(lái)熟悉測(cè)試和期待作答模式。然后,被試將隨機(jī)分配到兩組中:細(xì)節(jié)期待組和整體期待組。在細(xì)節(jié)期待組中,被試將被告知重點(diǎn)關(guān)注每個(gè)單詞和短語(yǔ)的細(xì)節(jié),而在整體期待組中,被試將被告知重點(diǎn)關(guān)注文章的整體意義和結(jié)構(gòu)。被試將翻譯兩篇文章,一篇在細(xì)節(jié)期待組中,另一篇在整體期待組中。結(jié)果將使用方差分析和t檢驗(yàn)進(jìn)行分析。該研究的發(fā)現(xiàn)有助于改進(jìn)翻譯測(cè)試的設(shè)計(jì)和解釋成績(jī)。關(guān)鍵詞:翻譯測(cè)試;期待作答模式;混合設(shè)計(jì);方差分析;t檢驗(yàn)。Introduction:Translationisacomplextaskthatrequiresarangeofcognitiveandlinguisticskills.Translationtestsarewidelyusedtoevaluateatranslator'sabilitytoaccuratelyandefficientlyconveymeaningfromonelanguagetoanother.However,theresultsoftranslationtestsmaybeinfluencedbythetestingformatandinstructionsprovidedtotest-takers.Onefactorthatmayimpacttestperformanceistheexpectationsetbythetestformat,orthemodeofresponse.Differentmodesofresponsemayencouragetest-takerstofocusondifferentaspectsofthetext,whichcouldinfluencetheirperformance.Previousresearchhassuggestedthatthemodeofresponsecanimpacttranslationperformance.Forexample,somestudieshavefoundthataholisticapproachthatfocusesontheoverallmeaningofthetextcanleadtobetterperformance,whileothershavefoundthatadetail-orientedapproach,focusingonindividualwordsandphrases,canbemoreeffective.However,thereisstillmuchtolearnabouthowdifferentmodesofresponseimpacttranslationtestperformance.Objectives:Thepurposeofthisstudyistoinvestigatetheimpactofdifferentmodesofresponseontranslationtestperformance.Inparticular,thestudyaimstocompareperformancebetweenadetail-orientedexpectationgroupandaholisticexpectationgroup.Thestudywilluseamixeddesignwithtwoindependentvariables:modeofresponse(detail-orientedversusholistic)andtestarticle(twodifferentarticles).Thestudywilladdressthefollowingresearchquestions:-Howdoesmodeofresponseimpacttranslationtestperformance?-Arethereanydifferencesintestperformancebetweenthetwoarticles?-Isthereaninteractionbetweenmodeofresponseandtestarticle?Methodology:Participants:ParticipantsforthisstudywillberecruitedfromthestudentbodyandteachingstaffatauniversityinChina.Theinclusioncriteriaare:(a)Chineseasanativelanguage,and(b)aminimumofthreeyearsofEnglishlanguageproficiency.Procedure:Participantswillbebroughttoatestingroomandbegivenabriefexplanationofthestudypurposeandprocedures.Theywillthenbeprovidedwithinstructionsforcompletingatranslationtest.Afterreadingtheinstructionsandpracticingasetofshorttranslations,participantswillberandomlyassignedtooneoftwogroups:detail-orientedexpectationgroupandholisticexpectationgroup.Participantsinthedetail-orientedexpectationgroupwillbetoldtofocusonthedetailsofeachwordandphraseinthearticleandtranslateeachoneaccurately.Participantsintheholisticexpectationgroupwillbetoldtofocusontheoverallmeaningandstructureofthearticleandtranslateitinawaythatconveysthemeaningasawhole.Eachgroupwillthenbegiventwoarticlestotranslate,oneinChinese-to-EnglishandtheotherinEnglish-to-Chinese.Translationswillbetimed,andparticipantswillbeaskedtocompleteabriefpost-testsurveytocollectdemographicinformationandfeedbackaboutthetest.Dataanalysis:Thedatacollectedwillbesubjectedtoamixed-designanalysisofvariance(ANOVA)todeterminethemaineffectsofmodeofresponseandtestarticleontranslationtestperformance,aswellastheinteractionbetweenthesevariables.Follow-upt-testswillbeusedtoexamineanysignificantmaineffectsorinteractions.Expectedresults:Itisexpectedthattheholisticexpectationgroupwillperformbetteroverallthanthedetail-orientedexpectationgroup,asthefocusontheoverallstructureandmeaningofthearticleisthoughttoprovideamorecomprehensivebasisfortranslation.Itisalsopossiblethattherewillbedifferencesinperformancebetweenthetwoarticles,butitisdifficulttopredictwhicharticlewillbemoredifficultforparticipants.Finally,itispossiblethattherewillbeaninteractionbetweenthemodeofresponseandthetestarticle,suchthattheeffectofthemodeofresponsewillbedifferentdependingonthearticlebeingtranslated.Conclusionandimplications:Thisstudywillcontributetotheunderstandingofhowdifferentmodesofresponseimpacttranslationtestperformance.Thefindingswillhaveimportantimplicationsforthedesignandinterpretationoftranslationtests.Iftheresultsindicatethataholisticexpectationapproachismoreeffective,thentranslationtestsshouldbedesignedtoencouragethisapproach.Iftheresultssuggestthatadetail-orientedapproachisbetterforspecifictypesoftexts,thenthisshouldbeta
