TheSecretoftheSea美國文學(xué)Henry_Wadsworth_Longfellow朗費羅LifeLongfellowwasborninMaine.OneofhisgrandfatherswasastateSenatorandtheothergrandfatherhadbeenaRevolutionaryWargeneralandaCongressman.Followinghisgraduationin1826fromBowdoinCollege,wherehewasaclassmateofNathanielHawthorne,LongfellowwenttoEuropetostudy.WhenhereturnedtotheUnitedStatesthreeyearslater,hetaughtEuropeanlanguages,firstatBowdoinandthenatHarvard.After18yearsofteachingatHarvard,heresignedhispositionbecausehefeltitinterferedwithhiswriting.
