Festivalsbearthedeepstructuralconnotationofmanynationalculturesformedandaccumulatedbyanation'shistory.Theyaretheresultsandimportantcarriersofthelong-termbreedingofnationalspiritinaspecificsocialsoil.ThroughtherepresentationoffestivalsinChinaandtheUnitedStates,thispaperanalyzesthedifferencesintimesequence,beliefandvalueorientation,moraltrendandspiritualpursuit,inordertofacilitatecommunicationandlearnfromeachother.

1.Introduction

FestivalCustomsshowinfrontofpeople,withbeautifulcustomsanduniquecharacteristics.Theyreflectthehistoricalcharacteristicsandsociallifeofthenationfromdifferentanglesandsides,withdistinctnationalcharacteristicsandstronglocalflavor.Itcontainsthevalueorientationofcharacter,psychology,belief,concept,thinkingmode,moralsentiment,aestheticsentimentanddeepstructureconnotationofmanynationalculturesformedandaccumulatedinthehistoryofanation.Itistheresultandcarrierofthelong-termcultivationofthenationalspiritinthespecificsocialsoil,andthemostprominentandcharacteristicexpressionofanation'ssurvivalform.Festivalcustomsareeasytounderstand,andnationalspiritisdeeplyrootedinvariousappearances.Therefore,throughthecomparativestudyofthesimilaritiesanddifferencesbetweenChineseandAmericantraditionalfestivals,wecanrevealthepersonality,psychology,culturalvalueorientationandnationalspiritofChineseandAmericantraditionalfestivals.

4.TheinheritanceofChineseAmericanculture
