HavingmasteredboththemanualandBraillealphabets,Helenbecameproficientinreadingandwriting,andbeganlearninghowtospeakin1890.HelenenteredRadcliffeCollegeand,assistedbyAnnieSullivan,graduatedcumlaudein1904.Shewasthefirstblind-deafpersonevertograduatefromcollege.
