EnglishauthorDanielDefoegainedinternationalfamewith1719novelRobinsonCrusoe.Healsopublishedseveralworksofsocialcriticism,oneofwhich,TheShortestWaywiththeDissenters(1702)鏟除新教徒的捷徑,landedhiminjail.Defoeproducedmorethan500writtenworksinhislifetime.1659-1661born
