'GoodMorningtoAll“wassuretobeasuccess.Thesisterpublishedthesonginacollection

entitled“SongStoriesoftheKindergarten^^in1893.Thirty-oneyearslater,afterDr.PattyHill

becametheheadoftheDepartmentofKindergartenEducationatColumbiaUniversity'sTeachers

College,agentlemanbythenameRobertColemanpublishedthesong,withoutthesisters*

permission.Headdedasecondpart,whichisthefamiliar“HappyBirthdaytoYou”.Mr.

Coleman'sadditionofthesecondpartmadethesongpopularand,finally,thesisters“originalfirst
