基數(shù)詞的基本構(gòu)成如下：1-12為基數(shù)詞中的基本數(shù)詞。1(one),2(two),3(three),4(four),5(five),6(six),7(seven),8(eight),9(nine),10(ten),11(eleven),12(twelve)13-19的基數(shù)詞在數(shù)詞3-9后加-teen構(gòu)成。其中13（thirteen），15（fifteen），18（eighteen）發(fā)生拼寫變化。

20-99之間的整十位數(shù)，在基數(shù)詞2-9之后加后綴-ty構(gòu)成。其中20（twenty）30（thirty）40(forty)、50(fifty)、80(eighty)拼寫發(fā)生變化。個位數(shù)不為零的十位數(shù)，由十位數(shù)加個位數(shù)構(gòu)成，中間用連字符號“-”。如：21twenty-two.整百位數(shù)由基數(shù)詞1-9加hundred構(gòu)成。百位數(shù)中若十位數(shù)不為零，百位數(shù)與十位數(shù)之間用and連接，也可以省略；但百位數(shù)后直接加個位數(shù)時，and一般不能省略。

整千位數(shù)由基數(shù)詞1-9thousand構(gòu)成。千位數(shù)帶百，十，個位數(shù)構(gòu)成。英語中沒有“萬”這個單位。一萬以上至百萬以下的數(shù)字都用“千”作單位表示。如：10,000（tenthousand），

1100-1900之間的整數(shù)也可以用百（hundred）為單位表示。

first（第一）second（第二）third（第三）序數(shù)詞4-19在相應(yīng)基數(shù)詞詞尾加-th

構(gòu)成。注意fifth（第五）

eighth（第八）ninth（第九）

twelfth（第十二）的特殊拼寫。20-99之間的整十位數(shù)在構(gòu)成序數(shù)詞時，將相應(yīng)基數(shù)詞詞尾-y變成-i，再加-eth。如：twentieth（第20）等。其余個位數(shù)不為零的個位數(shù)在構(gòu)成序數(shù)詞時，十位數(shù)用基數(shù)詞表示，個位數(shù)用序數(shù)詞表示。如：twenty-first（第21）

整百位數(shù)構(gòu)成序數(shù)詞時，在hundred后面加上-th。如：（a/one）hundredth(第100)，twohundredth（第200）。百位數(shù)含十位數(shù)和個位數(shù)構(gòu)成序數(shù)詞時，只需將最后一個數(shù)變成序數(shù)詞。如：（one）hundred（and）fifty-eighth（第158）千至百萬的數(shù)構(gòu)成序數(shù)詞時，同樣是將最后一個詞變成序數(shù)詞。如：（one）thousandtwohundred（and）forty-second（第1242）。一、二、三，特殊記，加th從4起，八少“t”，九去“e”，“ve”要用“f”替，(five,twelve)見“y”變成“i”和“e”，詞尾加上“th”，(twenty,thirty,ninety)若是遇到幾十幾，只變個位就可以。
