Theidealcandidatewillbe/have:

*Inspiretrustandconfidenceinstudentsandcolleagues;

*Buildteamcommitmentwithcolleaguesandintheclassroomengageandmotivatepupils;

*Demonstrateanalyticalthinking;

*Improvethequalityofstudents'learning;

*Contributetotheschoolimprovement/developmentplanningandpromotethelearningprioritiesoftheschooldevelopmentplan;

*Contributetothedevelopmentand/orimplementationofschoolpolicies;

*Usethestudenttrackingandreportingprocesstoadvancestudentlearningandenhanceprofessionalpracticeinlinewiththeschool'saspirationsandpriorities;

*Promotethewideraspirationsandvaluesoftheschool.

KeyResponsibilities:

Planning,TeachingandClassManagement

Plantheirteachingtoachieveprogressionoflearningthrough:

?understandingandapplyingeffectiveclassroommanagement;

?understandingandapplyingarangeofteachingstrategies;

?positivelytargetingandsupportingindividuallearningneeds;

?maintaininghighlevelsofbehaviour,disciplineandrespectforothers;

?effectivelyusinghomeworkandotherextra-curricularlearningopportunities;

?fosteringappropriateconsistentprogressandhighexpectations

-forallstudents

-acrossallteachingareas

?effectivelymanagingotheradultsintheclassroom.

Monitoring,Assessment,Recording,Reporting

?useperformancedatatoevaluatestudents'progressandsetappropriatetargetsforimprovement;

?useassessmenttoinformplanningandteaching;

?reportonprogresstoallstakeholders.

PastoralDuties

?beaformtutortoanassignedgroupofstudents;

?promotethegeneralprogressandwell-beingofindividualstudentsandoftheFormTutorGroupasawhole;

?liaisewithPastoralLeaderstoensuretheimplementationoftheschool'spastoralsystem;

?registerstudents,accompanythemtoassemblies,encouragetheirfullattendanceatalllessonsandtheirparticipationinotheraspectsofschoollife;

?contributetothepreparationofActionPlansandprogressfilesandotherreports;

?alertappropriatestafftoproblemsexperiencedbystudentsandmakerecommendationsastohowthesemayberesolved;

?communicate,asappropriate,withparentsofstudentsandpersonsorbodiesoutsidetheschoolconcernedwiththewelfareofindividualstudents,afterconsultationwithappropriatestaff;

?contributetoPSHEandcitizenshipaccordingtoschoolpolicy.
