RedoTransportModesAdataprotectionmoderequiresaspecificredotransportmode.Aredotransportmodealonedoesnotdefineadataprotectionmode.DefiningtheRedoTransportModeUsetheattributesofLOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_n:ARCHandLGWRSpecifythateitherthearchiverprocessorthelogwriterprocessisresponsiblefortransmittingredotothestandbydestinationARCHisthedefault.SYNCandASYNC(LGWRonly)SpecifythatnetworkI/OoperationsaretobeperformedsynchronouslyorasynchronouslywhenusingLGWRSYNCisthedefault.AFFIRMandNOAFFIRMEnsurethatredohasbeensuccessfullywrittentodiskonthestandbydestinationNOAFFIRMisthedefault.SettingtheRedoTransportModeClickEdittoaccesstheEditStandbyDatabasePropertiespage.SettingtheRedoTransportModeSelectthemodefromtheLogTransportModelist.DataProtectionModesThreedataprotectionmodes:MaximumprotectionMaximumavailabilityMaximumperformanceHelptobalancedataavailabilityandsystemperformanceMaximumProtectionEnableszerodatalossRedodatamustbewrittentoboththelocalonlineredologandthestandbyredologonatleastonestandbydatabase.Primarydatabaseshutsdownifafaultpreventsitfromwritingitsredostreamtoatleastoneremotestandbyredolog.Configurationrequirements:StandbyredologfilesonatleastonestandbydatabaseSYNC,LGWR,andAFFIRMattributes foratleastonestandbydatabaseMaximumAvailabilityEnableszerodatalossProvidesthehighestpossiblelevelofdataprotectionwithoutcompromisingtheavailabilityoftheprimarydatabaseRedodatamustbewrittentoboththelocalonlineredologandthestandbyredologonatleastonestandbydatabase.Primarydatabasedoesnotshutdownifafaultpreventsitfromwritingitsredostream.Configurationrequirements:StandbyredologfilesonatleastonestandbydatabaseSYNC,LGWR,andAFFIRMattributes foratleastonestandbydatabaseMaximumPerformanceDefaultlevelofdataprotectionProvidesthehighestpossiblelevelofdataprotectionwithoutaffectingtheperformanceoftheprimarydatabaseTransactionscancommitassoonastheredodataiswrittentothelocalonlineredolog.Redostreamiswrittenasynchronouslywithrespecttothecommitmentofthetransactionsthatcreatetheredodata.SettingtheDataProtectionModeClicktheProtectionModelink.SettingtheDataProtectionModeSettingtheDataProtectionMode
