1、Industrial IT “Folder” Imaging GraphicsThe use of “folder” graphics has become a popular tool in imaging the product compatibility and variety of the Industrial IT concept. The instructions in this section, and the graphics available for download, are provided to help ensure consistency, and should

2、be used in conjunction with guidelines provided by the Industrial IT Naming and Positioning Policy. A variety of folder graphic options are available for download as follows:1. Single Folders with text in place. These folders may be used individually or in combinations to enhance the presentation of

3、 products which belong to the respective functional Product Suite(s). These images should always be reproduced from the original files provided here for download. A variety of formats and resolutions (see below) is provided for different applications.2. “Focus” Folders ready for adding text.These fo

4、lder arrangements may be used to highlight a particular product or solution suite within the broader context of Industrial IT. When used for presentation of individual Product Suites (ControlIT, PowerIT, etc.), only approved suite names may be imprinted. When used for presentation of Solution Suites

5、 (IndustrialIT for . . .), names should be consistent with the strategy defined by your division, BA, etc.“Sweep” Folders with and without textThe presentation of folders with multiple product suite names (center) is a powerful way to reinforce the compatibility among Industrial IT products from dif

6、ferent suites. When using this approach, the selection of suite names may be varied to show relationships among a select group of products. Folders without text (left) are provided for this use. Since all 30 product suites are rarely shown in one picture, the “ghost” approach (right) may be used to

7、reinforce that the full list is larger.Folder Text Layout GuideTo ensure consistent treatment when text is added to blank folders, a layout guide (see diagram at right) is provided. Only Neue Helvetica (Bold) or Arial (Bold) fonts may be used, and text must always be printed in black. The ABB logo m

8、ust always be printed in red. The shape, colors or proportions of the folders may not be modified. When imprinting Solution Suite names which require three lines, it may be necessary to reduce the size of the text slightly from the “x” reference dimension to ensure the required protective field abov

9、e the ABB logo. A Word about the “superscript” ITWhen adding text to folders or using IndustrialIT terminology in other communications materials, be sure to observe the guidelines for proper treatment of the “superscript” IT. Consistency of this treatment is an important element of various ABB trade

10、mark filings and of overall Industrial IT imaging. General guidelines for the superscript are as follows:The first word “Industrial” or “Suitename” should always be in the same font, weight, size and color, and sit on the same baseline as the body text in which it appears.The second part “IT” should

11、 be approximately 90 percent of the type size of the first word, and raised above the baseline (superscript) by approximately 50 percent.Do not insert a space between the two parts.For more detailed information, see “The Industrial IT Wordmark” in ABB Visual Identity.Image Downloads AvailableThe dow

12、nloads available here include “zip” files containing either Product Suite folders (complete set) or a selection of approved Focus and Sweep Folders. These are provided in a variety of resolutions as follows:JPEG - Size approx. 13cm x 11cm (5 x 4), RGB color format, 96 dpi resolution.Intended for on-

13、screen reproduction and desktop digital printing. This file type cannot be enlarged from its present pixel dimensions without degrading the image quality. Typical applications: Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, PowerPoint), and other multimedia applications.GIF - Size 113 x 91 pixels, RGB co

14、lor format, 72 dpi resolution. Primarily intended for web applications, these files are optimized for best appearance at the smallest possible bandwidth. Also suitable for working in the Microsoft Office suite of products and other multimedia applications. Intended for on-screen reproduction only. T

15、his file type cannot be enlarged from its present pixel dimensions without degrading the image quality. Typical applications: internet, intranet, new media and multimedia.EPS - Size approx. 13cm x 11cm (5 x 4), CMYK color format, vector graphic.Suitable for high quality (offset) printing. These file

16、s may be imported into professional desktop publishing applications such as Adobe Pagemaker and QuarkXpress on PC or Macintosh platforms. This file type can be infinitely scaled up or down without degrading its file size or quality. Typical applications: High quality print brochures, print advertisi

17、ng, posters, or exhibition graphics.AI - Size approx. 13cm x 11cm (5 x 4), CMYK color format, vector graphic.Suitable for traditional high quality (offset) printing. These files may be imported into professional desktop publishing applications like Adobe Pagemaker and QuarkXpress, on PC or Macintosh

18、 platforms. This file type can be infinitely scaled up or down without degrading its file size or quality; making it ideal for larger scale projects. Typical applications same as EPS file format. AI is also the generally preferred file format for digitizing of artwork for apparel embroidery, three-dimensional signs, silk-screening, engraving, and similar reproduction processes.TIF - Size approx. 13cm x 11cm (5 x 4), RGB color format, 120 ppcm (300 dpi) resolution.
