2、orning of September 21st, 1999?2 How many people were killed in the earthquake?3 How many were hurt?4 In which part of Taiwan did it happen?5 What is the news about?聽(tīng)力原文為: On the morning of September 21st, 1999, a strong earthquake hit Taiwan. It happened in the middle of Taiwan. About 2000 people d
3、ied in the earthquake. The number of people who were hurt reached as many as 4005.設(shè)計(jì)思路:短短的聽(tīng)力練習(xí),有助于建立英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)言環(huán)境,成功實(shí)現(xiàn)了由單語(yǔ)環(huán)境向雙語(yǔ)環(huán)境的過(guò)渡,聽(tīng)力內(nèi)容也為新課“地震”埋下伏筆,使學(xué)生對(duì)地震有初步的認(rèn)識(shí)。講授新課 影片放映 地震發(fā)生情形的影片,那種驚心動(dòng)魄的場(chǎng)面直觀向?qū)W生展示地震作為一種自然災(zāi)害的破壞性。學(xué)生活動(dòng) 用英語(yǔ)說(shuō)出自己對(duì)地震的認(rèn)識(shí)。(雖然學(xué)生沒(méi)親身經(jīng)歷過(guò)地震,但報(bào)紙電視上經(jīng)常會(huì)有關(guān)于地震的報(bào)道,學(xué)生耳熟能詳,此時(shí)讓他們說(shuō)說(shuō)地震的情況,易如反掌,所不同的是,他們用英語(yǔ)表達(dá),切實(shí)實(shí)
4、現(xiàn)了應(yīng)用英語(yǔ)這個(gè)語(yǔ)言工具來(lái)解決問(wèn)題。提問(wèn) Where do earthquake mostly happen?學(xué)生回答 In Japan. (很多學(xué)生對(duì)日本地震很熟悉,所以一說(shuō)到地震,都會(huì)想到日本)提問(wèn) Why are there so many earthquakes in Japan?地圖演示 六大板塊分布圖學(xué)生活動(dòng) Questions: How many plates(板塊) are there in the crust of the earth? What are they? Answers: There are six plates. They are America plate,
5、Africa plate, Pacific plate, India plate, Antarctic plate and Eurasia plate. (教師引導(dǎo)學(xué)生看圖說(shuō)英語(yǔ))教師講授 The plates are moving all the time. Sometimes plates are moving away from each other,as a result, there often will be seas or valley, sometimes two plates move to each other. When they move very slowly, li
6、ttle by little, there will be mountains, but when they collide to each other rapidly and fast, there often be earthquake. So earthquakes mostly happen in places between two plates. When an earthquake releases more energy, it is higher on Richter scale. On the other hand, when an earthquake is mea
9、sured on lower Richter scale, it is small earthquake, which often releases less energy.
