1、The benefits that students can get from student organization or club activities are as many as that they can get from their academic studiesAccording to a resent survey conducted by China Times, academic performance is the number one concern for approximately 78% of parents because they believe it i

2、s the most important factor contributing to a bright future. Though I admit the importance of academic study, I contend that student organization or club activity plays an equally essential but different role in ones ability building.The first ability that students can acquire from student organizat

3、ion is how to communicate with others. There is no doubt that communication skill is crucial in todays society. Strangely, many young people today have problem on that. Sitting in the classroom and typing in front of a computer cannot really help to alter this situation. However, giving students the

4、 opportunity to attend in student organization, they will have more chances to perform team work with others. For example, several musical teenagers may be asked to form a band to perform on the school ball. Of course they have to give up the way of playing solo and learn how to cooperate and make a

5、ll instruments work together smoothly in order to harmonize the melody. To illustrate another example, it is quite usually that a club needs company sponsors. Therefore, the person who is in charge of this task has to visit different businesses and try to persuade the owner to get a good deal of sup

6、port. As a result, it is so obvious that students can develop their communication skill if they actively take part in a student organization or club. In addition, attending school club activities also stimulates students organization ability, which is another main weakness of the youth today. As is

7、mentioned, academic performance is the only thing that parents care, so parents arrange everything including food, clothing, transportation and pocket money in order to “save time” for students to read more books and recite more formulas. As a result, many teenagers have no idea of being organized.

8、It is again school clubs teach students this ability. For example, I attended a Christian club in the university and served as a core member. Our club had camp annually. As one of the camp organizer who was in charge of purchasing, I needed to list all the items need to be bought, calculate the mone

9、y given, compare the price and arrange transportation for all purchased items to be sent to the camp site on time. Though I made a mass for the first year, I became more and more sophisticated each year. Thus I am appreciate the time spent in Christian club and I believe students can definitely lear

10、n a lot if they are willing to help with organizing any activity or events.To sum up, although academic study benefits students with enriched knowledge, spending time in school clubs cultivates students practical living skills such as communication and organization. Therefore, I think what the schoo

12、s and sorrow. As for students, they usually make friends via playing sports together, participating in community activities or travelling. Personally, I think community is the best place for students to find friends.Firstly, comparing to joining a sports team, students can have friends from differen

13、t age and background from a community activity. Usually in a sports team, almost all members of the team are classmates or schoolmates, so they know each other in the class anyway. It is true that having the same hobby, they are likely to have more common topics, but the negative side is that studen

14、ts cannot broaden horizon by having all friends at the same age group with similar educational background. However, if students involve in community activities, that will be quite different. For example, I go to church every week. My pastor is both my companion and my teacher who helps me to grow sp

15、iritually. As a core member of the church, I visit new believers frequently including an old professor, a mid age doctor, a young successful businessman and a few international students. The visiting time is always enjoyable when communicating with people who have varied occupations and lifestyles a

16、nd some of them are now my good friends who lead me step into totally different fields. Therefore, students view and scope of knowledge can be enriched when having friends from the community.In addition, the relationship built with friends via attending community activity is stronger than the friend

17、s known via travelling. First, it is less likely for someone to have faith in a person whom he only spends a few days with? Besides, more often than not, the relationship ends when the trip ends. However, taking part in community events is a long term activity, which means students meet the same group of people in certain places frequently. Being together for a long time and knowing a persons family background, personality, hobby and ways of dealing with things, people can decide whether the person is worth associating and trusting.
