1、The Syllabus of English Composition III Second Semester, 2005 Academic YearI. Course Description:The course Composition III in TKU mainly focuses on skills of writing an argumentative research paper. Students in the first semester learn the principles and concept of writing such as how to write a th
2、esis statement in the introductory paragraph, how to advance the thesis statement by using supporting examples in the body paragraphs, and how to make a conclusion that ties together the thesis with key points from the opening, etc. In the second semester, the course will center on the skills of sum
3、marizing and responding to readings, and synthesizing and arguing ideas from reading selections, which are based on the basis of APA documentation style guidelines, library research techniques, and fully application of on-line resources and library. In order to compose a polished and professional co
4、llege-level research paper, students will experience the process of reading articles and journals, discussion, peer- editing and revising, writing and revising. Most importantly, students will be asked to be familiar with library and on-line resources like databases and make full use of them. II. Re

8、練習(xí)寫作,並於當(dāng)週五午夜12:00前以email的方式寄送給老師與同組同學(xué)。3. 各同學(xué)於收到作文後,應(yīng)於週六午夜12:00前提供修正意見,並將此修正意見分別寄送老師與原作者。4. 同學(xué)於收到修正意見後,進(jìn)行修改。應(yīng)於週日午夜12:00前寄送給老師。5. 平時(shí)之作文佔(zhàn)百分之三十,但作文於修改完成後始予計(jì)分。6. 遲交之作文不予計(jì)分。7. 學(xué)生修正過的最後文稿將由老師連結(jié)到學(xué)生的個(gè)人網(wǎng)頁(yè),以供同學(xué)鑑賞。8. 另加考論文寫作知識(shí)筆試。 9. 期末交出personal portfolio.Weekly schedule:DateContents1 - 221Orientation Confirm i
