11、GINNING NOVICE DIVISION B Beginning dogs with experienced handlers and dogs that have not earned a purple in Division A or B. Handlers may repeat this class until the dog has earned a purple ribbon or award. CLASS 30NOVICE Dogs must heel on leash including figure 8; heel free; stand for examination
12、off leash, come on recall off leash, long sit for one minute off leash and long down for three minutes off leash. CLASS 40 GRADUATE NOVICE Dogs must heel on leash; heel free including figure 8; drop on recall; stand for examination off leash; long sit for three minutes and long down for five minutes

16、s and classes described in Nebraska 4-H Dog Show guidelines 4-H 420 to determine class entry. If a youth has not had training or practiced on agility equipment, they may not enter a competition due to safety and training experience in agility. Wither heights of all agility dogs must be included with

CLASS 914 Foreground/Background/Landscape Comparison Take 2 pictures of the same subject. 1) 2/3 sky, 1/3 land 2) 1/3 sky, 2/3 land. Explain the strengths and weakness
21、es of each photo. Also, two pictures of another subject, 1) main subject in foreground, 2) main subject in the background. Describe the story that each picture tells. 36 CLASS 915 Black and White Comparison: 2 pairs of photos of the same subjects, (4 photos total) 1) color, 2) black and white. (May
22、set the camera to black and white, or photocopy a color photo.) Explain how the black and white image compares with the color one. Which one did you like best and why? CLASS 916 Cropping Study: Make 2 copies of one 4x6 photograph of any subject (3 total). Keep the original and crop the two copies tw
23、o different ways. Pick your favorite of these three and enlarge it to 4x6. Describe the pros and cons of each of these 4 photos. CONTROLLING THE IMAGE: UNIT II GUIDELINES A.Unit II Picture Displays: Three 4x6 photos mounted on a single horizontal 11 X 14 black (preferred) or white poster or matting
24、board. Every photo on picture display must be pencil numbered (no. 2 lead pencil) below (for judges reference only). Numbers should be readable but not detract from display. No titles, captions, or stick-on numbers will be allowed. Photos must be mounted vertically or horizontally. Personal Data Tag
25、s (parts A and B) are required (See General Rule F). B.Unit II Exhibit Prints: All exhibit prints are 8 x 10 prints mounted in 11 x 14 (outside size) cut matting (no frames) with a sandwich mat-board backing (not foam board); rectangular or oval inside matt opening Place photos horizontally or verti

C.Unit II Photo Journal: Choose project 1, 2, 3 or 4 in the Level 2 project manual titled “Controlling the Image” (available at county extension offices). 28、UNIT II CLASSES CONTROLLING THE IMAGE CLASS 10Photo Journal: An entry will consist of a single completed and bound section of project 1, 2, 3 or 4 in the Level 2 project manual titled “Controlling the Image”. CLASS 20Lighting Display: Entry will consist of a display of 3 pictures of 3 37 different s
29、ubjects that demonstrates lighting effects. CLASS 30Composition Display: Entry will consist of 3 photos illustrating 3 completely different views or angles of the same object. CLASS 40 Composition Exhibit Print: Entry will consist of a candid print that captures an un-posed moment and illustrates th
30、e emotion of the event. CLASS 50 Action Display: Entry will consist of a display of 3 pictures of 3 different subjects that captures motion and represents the action in the photo. CLASS 60CAREER EXHIBIT PRINT: Explore a career as an editorial photographer. Editorial photographers take pictures that
31、highlight the topics being written about in books, magazines, and newspapers. Editorial photos should be creative, powerful images that tell an intriguing story. Lets tell a story about why we love our Nebraska communities. Capture editorial photos that tell a story about your Nebraska Community. SF

Test different aperture settings but leave the shutter speed the same. Record the settings below each picture. Descr
33、ibe how your pictures changed with changes in the aperture. CLASS 902 Shutter Speed Study Take 3 photos of moving water. (fountain, water fall, sprinklers, etc.) Test different shutter speeds but leave the aperture the same. Record your settings below each picture. Describe how your pictures changed

CLASS 903 Focus Study: Select a daylight scene and take two pictures. 1) set the aperture at its largest opening (f/2.8 to f/4) and the other at the smallest aperture opening (f/9 to f/22 depending on your camera.) 35、e the depth of field in picture 1 and 2. CLASS 904 Silhouette Display: Entry will consist of 3 photos of 3 different subjects using back light in order to form silhouettes. CLASS 905 Silhouette Exhibit Print: Entry will consist of exhibit print that demonstrates back light in order to form a silhoue
36、tte of a subject. CLASS 906 Flash Photography Study: Take 3 pictures of the same subject using a variety of flash techniques such as camera mounted flash, side flash, flash bounced off the ceiling or wall, diffused flash with masking tape, tissue, or other item, flash diffused with your finger, or u
37、sing a reflector. Label each picture with technique used. CLASS 907 Rule of Thirds, Golden Triangle and Golden Rectangle Study: Display photos, one using the rule of thirds, one using the golden triangle, and one using the golden rectangle. Make a template of each rule out of velum, tracing paper, o
38、r clear plastic and overlay each photo. Label each one (1 photo each of 3 different subjects). CLASS 908 Bits and Pieces Entry will consist of three photos of close-ups of familiar items. Fill the frame with small parts of whole subjects. 38 CLASS 909 Panorama: Take a series of 3 5 pictures from the
39、 same spot and splice them together to make a panorama. CLASS 910 Lighting Exhibit Print: Entry will consist of an exhibit print that demonstrates lighting effects. CLASS 911 Action Exhibit Print: Entry will consist of an exhibit print that captures motion and represents the action in the photo. . C
40、LASS 912 Spelling Bee Exhibit Print: Photograph any letter of the alphabet in your surroundings. Find letters in the architecture of buildings, growing in a garden or on items in your own home. CLASS 913 Spelling Bee Display Spell a word in pictures. Photograph letters of the alphabet in your surrou
41、ndings and combine them to spell a word. Use appropriately sized mat board for your display. 43、on of your work. Photos may have been taken at any time during the 4-H experience and may have been previously exhibited. Photos can only be used in a portfolio once. Place photos in plastic sleeves and present them in an 8 x 11 black or white 3-ring binder. On the first page of the portfolio includ
44、e a table of contents listing a title for each photo in your collection and a narrative describing the overall intent for the portfolio. For example, the portfolio could include a range of your work from your earlier years in 4-H photography to the present, you could have a creative theme for your p
45、ortfolio or you could include photos that illustrate your diverse photography skills. On the page prior to EACH photo include an information sheet for each photo that includes 1) Personal Data Tag Part A, 2) the photograph title and 3) a paragraph describing how the photo contributes to the overall
46、intent of your portfolio. COMMUNICATIONS The 4-H Communications Contest is an opportunity for 4-Hers to develop poise and confidence, to share what they have learned with others, and to learn how to communicate to a group. This activity is held prior to fair and is open to all 4-H youth. County Contest will be June 27 at 3
