高考英語完形填空題專題輔導(dǎo)一、主要考查點(diǎn)(一)、固定搭配英語中的固定搭配種類繁多,包括各種固定短語、習(xí)慣用法等。如: “But they are damage to our houses and shops of historical interests.” Said John Norris, one of the protesters.(NMET99第30題)A. doingB. raisingC. puttingD. producing解析 固定搭配do damage to意為“損害,破壞”。應(yīng)選A。(二)、詞語辨析利用相似詞語,即選項中所給的四個詞詞性和意義相同或相近來設(shè)置選項。如果脫離語境或只看句子的一部分,此類題可能會有兩個或兩個以上的正確答案,但按語境分析,則只有一個正確答案。這類題主要考查考生的詞匯及運(yùn)用能力,而且近年來占很大的比重。如:Finally I turned the key in the lock and _ the door open, with. (NMET2000第40題)A. knockedB. forcedC. pushedD. tried解析既然是turn the key,那么用push the door open才合理。應(yīng)選C。(三)、語法知識這些語法知識可能包括從句引導(dǎo)詞、主謂一致、名詞或代詞的數(shù)或格、非謂語動詞的用法、平行結(jié)構(gòu)、倒裝結(jié)構(gòu)、強(qiáng)調(diào)句型、情態(tài)動詞、虛擬語氣、動詞的基本時態(tài)及搭配等。但從近年的試題來看,單純考查語法知識的題很少。例如:When Ed first phoned and _ we play, I laughed quietly, figuring on an easy victory.(NMET03第37題)A. declaredB. mentionedC. persuadedD. suggested解析從we play可知本題考查的是虛擬語氣的用法。應(yīng)選D。(四)、前后語境主要考查考生結(jié)合全文結(jié)構(gòu)和中心思想,根據(jù)常識或上下文提供的信息進(jìn)行理解、分析以及推理的能力。這種題型在高考完形填空中比例最大。通常以后制性設(shè)空為主。所謂后制性設(shè)空,是指設(shè)空的答案由未讀過的下文決定。如果設(shè)空的答案由已讀過的上文決定,則為前制性設(shè)空。需要綜合上下文而定的答案,則為語篇性設(shè)空。完形填空的設(shè)空答案有的由一個句子決定,有的由相鄰不遠(yuǎn)的句子決定,還有的則由語篇內(nèi)容綜合決定。因此語境型設(shè)空也可分為:(1)句子層次;(2)句組層次;(3)語篇層次。設(shè)空的難度,從句子層次到句組層次,再到語篇層次,依次遞增。如2002年完形填空題,句子層次設(shè)空為5個,句組層次設(shè)空為6個,語篇層次設(shè)空為9個,語篇層次設(shè)空的比例超過了三分之一。又如,2003年NMET完形填空題有10個小題需要考生逾越句子層次理解和推斷。這種設(shè)題方式體現(xiàn)了“突出語篇”的命題思路。如:It was one of the most _ and tiring games Ive ever had. (NMET03第36題)A. encouragingB. hopelessC. surprisingD. regular解析此題并非考查四個詞的區(qū)別,而是考查對全文的理解。此空為后制性設(shè)空,通過文中結(jié)尾的敘述可推斷C項為正確答案。(五)、行文邏輯有時,選項中的四個詞為表示上下文邏輯關(guān)系的轉(zhuǎn)換詞語,它涉及文章的起承轉(zhuǎn)合、上下連貫。這類題主要考查考生對上下文邏輯關(guān)系的理解,如轉(zhuǎn)折關(guān)系、讓步關(guān)系、因果關(guān)系、遞進(jìn)關(guān)系、增補(bǔ)關(guān)系、比較關(guān)系、對比關(guān)系等,并考查考生對轉(zhuǎn)換詞語的運(yùn)用能力。如:My cousin must have made an effort to get himself into shape. _, at the point in our game when Id predicted the score to be about 9 to 1 in my favor.(NMET03 第48題)AAfter allB. As a resultC. Above allD. At last解析此處有出人意料之意,且表示結(jié)果,故B項符合行文邏輯。二、高考完形填空題穩(wěn)中求變,近年也出現(xiàn)了一些新的變化。(一)詞義辨析比重加大高考加強(qiáng)實(shí)詞和上下文語境的考查,勢必增加對同義詞、近義詞辨析的考查。如2003年有5個小題涉及到詞義辨析。(二)短文用語更加真實(shí)高考完形填空題所用語言更加接近英美人的實(shí)際交際用語。生活中使用的非正式的、口語化的用語正在增多,不合語法規(guī)范的語言現(xiàn)象也偶爾出現(xiàn)。如2002年NMET完形填空短文中就出現(xiàn)了這樣的句子“you fool”,還出現(xiàn)了一些口語化的語言 “Because you are so goddamned educated”, 其中g(shù)oddamned 為非正式口頭語,用來增強(qiáng)語氣,意為“很、很大”。(三)副詞考查相對集中經(jīng)研究表明:even, ever, still, just, almost, already等副詞似乎備受高考命題者的青睞。大部分年份均對此點(diǎn)作過考查。1996年:A. evenB. stillC. always D. almost1998年:A. yetB. evenC. neverD. just2000年:A. yetB. onlyC. evenD. still2001年:A. evenB. hardlyC. certainlyD. probably2002年:A. Yet(四)排比結(jié)構(gòu)多次重現(xiàn) 高考完形填空短文中常常會出現(xiàn)一些排比結(jié)構(gòu)和平行結(jié)構(gòu),掌握這些結(jié)構(gòu)極為相似的句子可大大提高我們的解題效果。請看下面兩例。When she wants to be picked up, Washoe points up with one finger. She rubs her teeth with her finger when she wants to brush her teeth.(NMET95)Should the wallet, found in the street, be put into a pocket or turned over to the policeman? Should the extra change received at the store be forgotten or returned?(NMET96)(五)答案分布趨于均等1999年(共25空)A(7) B(6)C(6) D(6)2000年(共20空)A(5) B(4)C(5) D(6)2001年(共20空)A(4) B(6)C(5)D(5)2002年(共20空)A(6) B(4)C(5) D(5)2003年(共20空)A(5) B(5)C(5)D(5)所以對于沒有把握的題目,考生若是要猜的話,最好去猜那些已選答案較少的選項,這樣得分的可能性要大些。三、完形填空題實(shí)用破題技巧高考完形填空題命制的心理學(xué)依據(jù)是“格式塔心理學(xué)”,意為組織結(jié)構(gòu)或整體。該心理學(xué)派認(rèn)為:人的心理現(xiàn)象最基本的特征是在意識經(jīng)驗(yàn)中所顯現(xiàn)的事物的結(jié)構(gòu)性或整體性。所以,在解答完形填空題時,必須首先通讀全文,把握語篇的輪廓和話題;在把握語篇的解題線索的基礎(chǔ)上,再綜合運(yùn)用自己的語言知識、詞匯知識、語法知識以及文化背景等知識,利用分析、判斷、推理等手段,進(jìn)而有效地解題。據(jù)此,介紹下面一些解題技巧。(一)、利用首句信息解題首句是一個完整的句子,它提供的信息是把握全文主旨的關(guān)鍵,可以幫助我們判斷全文大意甚至全文主題?!纠縏he measure of a mans real character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out. Thomas Macaulay (NMET96)解析這是短文開頭的一個引證。它用名人語錄揭示主題。本句的意思是:衡量人真正本質(zhì)的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)是當(dāng)他知道無人能知曉時,他的所作所為如何。實(shí)際上,這是下面完形填空全文的論點(diǎn)。下文緊接著用了4段篇幅,以自己一次考試中的作弊為例,講述往事,結(jié)尾進(jìn)行了評價自覺性對于一個人的意義。如果能看懂開頭所引語錄,則能較快地領(lǐng)悟全文的主旨。(二)、利用語法分析解題完形填空中考查語法項目的題目可以利用所學(xué)的語法結(jié)構(gòu)、句式特點(diǎn)來解題?!纠?51 do you suppose he asked for them?(NMET02)51. A. What B. How C. Who D. Which解析do you suppose為插入成分。“he asked for them” 是一個相對獨(dú)立和完整的句子,因此空格處應(yīng)該用副詞How來修飾謂語動詞asked,而不能用代詞 What, Who或 Which。(三)、利用慣用法和詞語辨析知識解題完形填空題中對詞匯知識的考查,主要體現(xiàn)在習(xí)慣用法和同義詞、近義詞的辨析兩方面。對詞義辨析題的考查有加大力度的趨勢。要做好這類題,需要有較大的詞匯量和詞語搭配能力、詞語辨析能力,特別是在特定的語境中能靈活運(yùn)用的能力?!纠縏hese days, only a few people continue to take the story of the Abominable Snowman 52 . A. lightly B. jokingly C. seriously D. properly解析這一段是對全文作出的一個小結(jié),說明雪人的傳說流傳至今,人們對其所持的態(tài)度。句中的“only a few people.”表明時至今日,仍“信其有”的人已經(jīng)很少了。與之對應(yīng),應(yīng)該用短語動詞 take sth/sb seriously,表示“只有很少人把這傳說當(dāng)真”。(四)、利用語篇標(biāo)志解題語篇一般指比句子長的語言單位,如句群、段落、篇章等。語篇與語篇之間往往有表明其內(nèi)在聯(lián)系的詞語,這些詞語被稱為“語篇標(biāo)志”。如表示結(jié)構(gòu)層次的語篇標(biāo)志語有:firstly, secondly, thirdly, finally等;表示邏輯關(guān)系的語篇標(biāo)志語有thus, therefore, so等;表示改變話題的語篇標(biāo)志語有by the way等;表示遞進(jìn)關(guān)系的語篇標(biāo)志語有besides, whats more, further等;表示時間關(guān)系的語篇標(biāo)志語有before, so far, yet, meanwhile, later等等。在做完形填空時,如果能充分利用這些語篇標(biāo)志語,就可以迅速理清文章的脈絡(luò),弄清上下文的關(guān)系?!纠縄f the 24-hour cycle is disturbed most people experience unpleasant feelings. Rather than解析上一段講的是一天的睡眠和工作的周期,下一段講比一天持續(xù)時間更長的其他周期。文中的also 和other是語篇標(biāo)志語。必須用連詞 as well as(和,又)連接兩個同類事物。(五)、利用文化背景和生活常識解題完形填空命題的基本形式是獨(dú)立的語篇,它以自身的內(nèi)容提供完整的語篇信息,但其中有時滲透著相關(guān)的如文化科學(xué)、歷史地理、風(fēng)俗民情等方面的知識。高中生已經(jīng)掌握了豐富的文化背景知識和生活常識,具備了一定的判斷能力。在做題時,若能積極地調(diào)動自己的文化背景和生活常識,巧妙地加以運(yùn)用,特別是注意中西方文化的差異,將會大大簡化復(fù)雜的分析與判斷過程,節(jié)省時間,順利地沿作者的思路閱讀下去。【例】Most believe the footprints are nothing more than ordinary animal tracks, which had been made 47 as they melted (融化) and refroze in the snow.(NMET01)47. A. strange B. large C. deep D. rough解析根據(jù)常識判斷,當(dāng)這類footprints melted and refroze in the snow 時,它們的確有可能會變得strange, large, deep或 rough(=not smooth) 。但在諸多特征里面,最能引起人們聯(lián)想到雪人與一般動物的腳印不同之處是其“大”,而非其他。另外還有這樣一個常識:雪上較深的印痕經(jīng)過融化和再次凍結(jié)后,會變得更大一些。故選B。(六)、利用邏輯判斷解題【例】.and they said that they had even caught Yetis on two occasions though none has been produced as evidence(證據(jù)).But, 50 , no evidence has ever actually been produced.(NMET01)50. A. so B. besides C. again D. instead解析用連詞“But”,表示前文那位Russian scientist雖有說法,但無證據(jù)。由evidence可追尋到第二段的末尾“none has been produced as evidence”,可判斷是“再次否定”,該用副詞again。文章需要把前后所講到的事物聯(lián)系起來,因而必然用到各類篇章粘合手段,關(guān)聯(lián)詞的使用就是其一。(七)、利用暗示和對應(yīng)解題高考完形填空題,雖然也穿插了對語法、短語和詞的辨析、句子結(jié)構(gòu)的考查等,但對文章故事情節(jié)發(fā)展線索的邏輯考查仍是重點(diǎn)。暗示與上下對應(yīng)的思維方法,是突破此類完形填空最關(guān)鍵的思維方式?!纠?Mr. Adamson enjoys playing the violin in his spare time. He is often carried away by his own 1 . But it is a 2 time for his neighbors when Mr. Adamson plays as he does so badly.One day Mr. Adamson sat by a 3 and began to play the violin as usual. A. angry B. excited C. comfortable D. disappeared解析先不要急于下手,應(yīng)通過上下文找出相關(guān)的暗示。如原文中的劃線部分均是有用的暗示。as he does so badly暗示他的音樂令鄰居很痛苦,故第2空應(yīng)選A;carried away by his own.暗示他總是自我陶醉,故第5空答案為B;instead of music 表明他彈出的不是音樂,而是noises,因?yàn)樗灌従觮errible,故推出1、4兩空的答案分別為B、C。而the window暗示了第3空的答案為C。(八)、利用排除法解題解答完形填空題需要進(jìn)行認(rèn)真的閱讀、理解、推理和判斷,需要對四個選項進(jìn)行仔細(xì)的辨別、分析。有時會遇到這樣的情況,對某個題目的正確選項的含義、用法不甚明白,但發(fā)現(xiàn)其他選項有顯而易見的謬誤。這時,可以嘗試著用排除法?!纠縎hould the wallet, found in the street, be put into a pocket, or turned over to the policeman? Should the 47 change received at the store be forgotten or returned? Nobody will know except you. But you have to live with yourself, and it is always better to live with someone you respect.(NMET96)47. A. extra B. small C. some D. necessary解析本題考查形容詞的辨義。文中列舉幾個事例來說明我們每天都會做personal decisions。本空缺就是一例:在商店購物時多找的change(即extra change)應(yīng)當(dāng)如何處理?如果對extra的用法和意義掌握不好,可用排除法選出正確答案。其中選項C、D與命題明顯不符,所以容易排除。選項B干擾性極強(qiáng),需認(rèn)真考慮。small change意思是“零錢”,買東西找回零錢,為什么要忘記forgotten 或歸還returned呢?明顯邏輯不通,所以此處用small意思不妥,可以把B項排除。剩下的選項A自然就是本題的正確答案。(九)、利用排比結(jié)構(gòu)解題試題命制者常從排比結(jié)構(gòu)的句式相同或相似這一角度,利用其表現(xiàn)意義的關(guān)聯(lián)或?qū)Ρ冗@一特點(diǎn)來設(shè)空?!纠?Many people now think that teachers give pupils too much homework. A. considerablyB. favorablyC. properlyD. pleasantly解析該排比結(jié)構(gòu)由Many people think that.They say that.they argue that.所組成。在意義上表現(xiàn)了人們(學(xué)生家長)對學(xué)生課業(yè)負(fù)擔(dān)過重的抱怨。該結(jié)構(gòu)中所設(shè)置的三個空格的正確填入,要求考生首先把握結(jié)構(gòu)所體現(xiàn)的“主題” 抱怨作業(yè)太多。其次,要求考生理解三句之間在表達(dá)意義上的遞進(jìn)關(guān)系。即:作業(yè)過多“too much homework”;所以,課余學(xué)生在家做作業(yè)是沒必要的“unnecessary”;不僅如此,教師對作業(yè)的設(shè)計也不合適“not properly”。故答案分別為A,D,C。(十)、利用詞匯復(fù)現(xiàn)解題 完形填空試題中,某一詞常常以原詞、同義詞或近義詞、概括詞以及其它形式重復(fù)出現(xiàn)在語篇之中。詞匯復(fù)現(xiàn)的語用意義使得語篇中的句子相互銜接和連貫,從而構(gòu)成一個完整和有機(jī)的意義整體。如: 【例】And the clerk confirmed that his plane was leaving at nine oclock three days from that day. Since he was 44 in three days, Andy didntt lose anytime. (03全國春季題)44. A. movingB. returningC. stayingD. leaving解析可以很容易地找到設(shè)空部分的解題線索 上文的復(fù)現(xiàn)詞匯leaving。故答案為D。(十一)、利用對比結(jié)構(gòu)解題對比結(jié)構(gòu)把兩種對立的事物或同一事物的兩個不同方面并列出來加以比較或?qū)Ρ?。完形填空題常利用句子之間的對比關(guān)系或同一個句子的不同部分之間的對比關(guān)系設(shè)計題目?!纠緼 pupil who can do his homework in a quiet and 59 room is in a much better position than a pupil who does his homework in a small, noisy room with the television on.
