What kind of festivals do you like, western or Chinese? What do people do on festivals? What festivals do you like best? Talk about your favourite festival.Step 2:Listening Practice (Activity1)Daming: Weve got lots of things to do. My mother and my aunt are cleaning the house. My aunt is cleaning the floor. Im learning a dragon dance, and Lingling is making lanterns. My grandmother is cooking the meal. Like many people, were getting ready for the Spring Festival.Check: 1.cleaning the house; 2.cooking the meal; 3.getting ready for the Spring Festival; 4. learning a dragon dance; 5. making lanterns; 6.sweeping the floorStep 3: Listen and read (Activity 2)Listen to the tape carefully, then the teacher should explain the main points.Step 4:ExtensionPlay the recording again and pause after each sentence, asking the students to repeat chorally andindividually;Put the students into groups of four to practice the dialogue;They should repeat it several times, changing roles each timeStep 5:Choose the best answers to the questions. (Activity 3 )Ask the students to do this individually,then check with a partner.
