AgroupofblackactivistwomeninMontgomerywasknownastheWomen's

PoliticalCouncil.Thegroupwasworkingtoopposethemistreatmentofblack

buspassengers.Blackshadbeenarrestedandevenkilledforviolatingorders

frombusdrivers.RosaParkswasnotthefirstblackpersontorefusetogive
