Thestoryofthesong“HappyBirthdaytoYou”Beganasasweetone,butlaterbecamebitter.Twosisters,MildredHill,ateacheratakindergarten,andDr.PattyHill,theprincipalofthesameschool,wroteasongtogetherforthechildren,entitled“GoodMorningtoAll”.WhenMildredcombinedhermusicaltalentswithhersistersknowledgeintheareaofkindergarteneducation,GoodMorningtoAll”wassuretobeasuccess.Thesisterpublishedthesonginacollectionentitled“SongStoriesoftheKindergarten”in1893.Thirty-oneyearslater,afterDr.PattyHillbecametheheadoftheDepartmentofKindergartenEducationatColumbiaUniversitysTeachersCollege,agentlemanbythenameRobertColemanpublishedthesong,withoutthesisterspermission.Headdedasecond
