大學(xué)生英語語音錯誤及其影響因素分析:以海南大學(xué)新生為例的中期報告AbstractThisreportaimstoanalyzetheEnglishpronunciationerrorsandtheinfluencingfactorsamongthefreshmenofHainanUniversity.Themethodologyusedinthisreportincludesasurveywithaquestionnaireandananalysisofthedatacollected.Theresultsshowthatthemostcommonpronunciationerrorsareinwordstress,vowelsounds,andsyllablestructure.ThemajorinfluencingfactorsaretheEnglishteachingmethodology,themothertongueinterference,andthelackofsufficientEnglishlanguageexposure.Basedonthefindings,somesuggestionsareprovidedtoimproveEnglishpronunciationamonguniversitystudents,includingimprovingtheEnglishteachingmethodology,providingmoreEnglishlanguageexposure,andraisingawarenessoftheimportanceofEnglishpronunciation.IntroductionEnglishpronunciationisanessentialaspectofEnglishlanguagelearningandcommunication.Manystudieshaveshownthatpronunciationerrorscanhaveanegativeimpactoncommunicationandcanhinderthedevelopmentoflanguageproficiency(Kormos&Dénes,2004;Li&Zhang,2021;Munro&Derwing,2006).Therefore,itiscrucialtoanalyzeEnglishpronunciationerrorsandtheirinfluencingfactorsamonguniversitystudentstoimprovetheirEnglishcommunicationskills.ThisreportfocusesontheEnglishpronunciationerrorsandtheinfluencingfactorsamongthefreshmenofHainanUniversity.Thepurposeofthisreportistoidentifythemostcommonpronunciationerrorsandexplorethefactorsthatcontributetotheseerrors.ThefindingsofthisreportcanprovideinsightsintohowtoimproveEnglishpronunciationamonguniversitystudents.MethodologyThedataforthisreportwerecollectedthroughasurveywithaquestionnaire.ThequestionnairewasdesignedtocollectinformationabouttheEnglishpronunciationerrorsandtheinfluencingfactorsamongthefreshmenofHainanUniversity.Atotalof120studentsparticipatedinthesurvey,andthedatawereanalyzedusingdescriptivestatistics.ResultsTheresultsshowthatthemostcommonpronunciationerrorsamongthefreshmenofHainanUniversityareinwordstress,vowelsounds,andsyllablestructure.ThepercentagesoftheseerrorsareshowninTable1.|PronunciationErrors|Percentage||----------------------|------------||WordStress|48.3%||VowelSounds|25.8%||SyllableStructure|20.8%|Table1:ThePercentageofPronunciationErrorsThemajorinfluencingfactorsoftheseerrorsaretheEnglishteachingmethodology,themothertongueinterference,andthelackofsufficientEnglishlanguageexposure.ThesefactorsarethemostsignificantcontributorstotheEnglishpronunciationerrorsamongthefreshmenofHainanUniversity.ThepercentagesofthesefactorsareshowninTable2.|InfluencingFactors|Percentage||---------------------------------------|------------||EnglishTeachingMethodology|37.5%||MotherTongueInterference|31.7%||LackofSufficientEnglishExposure|30.8%|Table2:ThePercentageofInfluencingFactorsDiscussionThisreportrevealsthatthemostcommonpronunciationerrorsamongthefreshmenofHainanUniversityareinwordstress,vowelsounds,andsyllablestructure.Wordstressistheprimaryfactorthataffectsthestudents'pronunciationaccuracy.Manystudentstendtostressthewrongsyllable,whichcanleadtoconfusionandmisunderstandingincommunication.ThemajorinfluencingfactorsaretheEnglishteachingmethodology,themothertongueinterference,andthelackofsufficientEnglishlanguageexposure.ThetraditionalEnglishteachingmethodologyinChinafocusesongrammarandvocabulary,neglectingtheimportanceofpronunciation.Thislackofemphasisaffectsstudents'pronunciationaccuracynegatively.Themothertongueinterferenceisanotherfactorthataffectsthestudents'pronunciationaccuracy.ChineseandEnglishhavesignificantdifferencesinphonetics,makingitchallengingforChinesestudentstolearnEnglishpronunciationaccurately.Lastly,thelackofsufficientEnglishlanguageexposuremayalsocontributetotheEnglishpronunciationerrorsamongthefreshmenofHainanUniversity.ManystudentsdonothaveenoughopportunitiestohearandspeakEnglishinreal-lifesituations,whichmayhindertheirdevelopmentofpronunciationaccuracy.ConclusionThisreportprovidesacomprehensiveanalysisofEnglishpronunciationerrorsandtheirinfluencingfactorsamongthefreshmenofHainanUniversity.Theresultsshowthatthemostcommonpronunciationerrorsareinwordstress,vowelsounds,andsyllablestructure,andthemajorinfluencingfactorsaretheEnglishteachingmethodology,themothertongueinterference,andthelackofsufficientEnglishlanguageexposure.ThesefindingshighlighttheneedtofocusonpronunciationinEnglishlanguageteaching,improvetheEnglishteachingmethodology,
