GENERAL

ThisspecificationcoverstheminimumrequirementsforMarineLoadingArmsforuseinliquidammoniaandmoltensulfurserviceincludingdesign,manufacture,assembly,control,shoptests,sitetestsandperformances,tobeinstalledintheMARITIMETERMINALOFMORONPETROCHEMICALCOMPLEX.Therequirementsforquickconnect/disconnectcouplers(QCDC),poweredemergencyreleasecoupling(PERC)andloadingarmcontrolpowersystemsarealsocovered.Inadditiontothedescriptioninthisspecification,relatingdatasheets,drawings,specifications,codesandstandardsshallbereferredtoconductthedesign.

Itshouldbenotedthatthisspecificationisnotintendedtoprecludetheuseofnewmaterials,designsortechniqueswhichcanbedemonstratedtobesuitablefortheintendedservice.

ThisspecificationisacontractualdocumentbetweenPURCHASERandSELLER.ItdefinestheequipmentandservicesincludedintheSELLERscopeofsupply.

ThisspecificationisderivedfromOCIMF(OilCompaniesInternationalMarineForum)“Design&ConstructionSpecificationforMarineLoadingArms”.Thedesign,manufactureandtestingoftheMarineArmsshallbeinfullcompliancewiththisspecification.

Sellershalladviseequipmentloadrequirementsinthetechnicaltenders.

FIELDOFAPPLICATION

Liquidammoniaarmitem120-00-0-LA-01isintendedtotransferliquidammoniafromtheonshoretanktotheshiptanks.Liquidammoniaarmisconnectedviaashutdownvalvetothemainammoniapipeline.Thisarmshouldhavevapourreturnpipelinetoreturnthevapourtothevapourreturnpipeline.

Themoltensulphurarmitem120-00-0-LA-03isintendedtotransfermoltensulphurfromshiptoonshore.

The"OperatingEnvelope"forasingleloadingarmisthatvolumeinspace,requiredtooperatetheunitforalloftheshipsmanifoldlocationsbasedon:

elevationchangesfortide,draftorship’sheaveduetowaveaction,

changesinhorizontalpositionduetoshipswayandsurge,

maximumandminimummanifoldspacingwhenoperatingsimultaneouslywithotherloadingMarineArms,

singlearmoperation.

The"RatedTemperatures"oftheMarineArmor,ifapplicable,partsthereof,aretherangeoftemperaturesestablishedbytheextremesof:

thetemperaturerangeofcargotemperaturesduringoperations,

therangeofarmtemperaturesduetoambientconditionsresultingfromambienttemperaturesandsolarradiationheat.

ItshallbetheSELLERresponsibilitytocheckthatthedesign,purchase,manufacture,assembly,control,testandcertificationofallitemsincludedinthesupplyareinconformitywiththerequirementsofdocumentslistedintheApplicableDocuments.

Foreachapplicabledocument,SELLERshallsubmittoPURCHASER/OWNERforreviewalistofdeviationstospecifications,otherwisethesupplyshallbeconsideredasfullycomplyingtospecifications.Thislistofdeviations,ifany,shallbeperiodicallyup-datedduringtheperformanceofthecontract.

WhenSELLER'sinternalstandardisequivalenttorelevantspecification,itmaybeproposedforPURCHASER/OWNERreviewandfinalapprovalbyOWNER.

DOCUMENTSORDEROFPRECEDENCE

Anyconflictsbetweentherequirementsofthisspecification,relatedspecificationsanddrawingsetc.,shallbereferredtothePURCHASER/OWNERforclarificationbeforeproceedingwiththemanufactureorprocurementoftheaffecteditem.NothingcontainedinthisorrelatedspecificationsshallbeconstruedasrelievingtheSELLERoftheresponsibilityfordesigningandconstructingtheequipmenttomeetthespecifiedconditions.

TheSELLERshallsupplyallequipmentandmaterialsnecessaryforthecompleteinstallationofMarineArmsenablingshipstobesafelyandcontinuouslyloadedorunloaded.

SELLERshallalsoberesponsibleforsitesupervisionoferection,pre-commissioning,commissioning,startupandperformancetesting.TheSELLERshallsupplyMarineArmsinthequantityandwithcharacteristicsspecifiedinthedatasheet.

Theextentofsupplyshallincludebutnotlimitedtothefollowing:

TheHydraulicPowerPacksandlocalgrademountedjunctionboxesarelocatedatthebaseoftheverticalcolumn.Theelectricalandinstrumentboundarylimitsareatterminalslocatedinthelocaljunctionboxesforthecablesfromjettycontrolroom.Thestructuralboundarylimitislocatedattheundersideofthepowerpackbaseplate.

TheMarineArm/shipboundarylimitisdefinedbytheoperatingenvelopeandtheflangeconnectionwhichinterfaceswiththeshipmanifoldconnection.

AluminiumshallnotbeusedfortheMarineArms.

SwiveljointsandfluidcarryingpartsofcouplersshallbeconstructedofmaterialswhichdonotcausegalvanicactionwiththepipeusedintheMarineArm.

Thesealringmaterialshallbesuitableforthefluidtobepumpedandforexposuretoambientanddesigntemperature.

AllexposedpartswhichmoverelativetoeachotherforthefollowingMarineArmcomponentsshallbecorrosionresistanttomarineatmosphere,particularly:

manualblockvalvesinthehydraulicsystem,

hydrauliccylinderandmotors,

Swiveljoints

Purgingconnections.

DESIGNREQUIREMENTS

General

Allequipmentshallbedesignedforaminimumdesignlifeof25years.SELLERshouldprovidealistoftheanticipatedmajorcomponentsrequiringreplacementtofulfilthisrequirement.

MarineArmsandancillaryfacilitiesshallbedesignedtohavesufficientresistanceforthevariousloadscombinationsspecifiedinthisspecification.

Allcomponentsshallbefullyproveninfieldservice.

ThestructuralpartoftheMarineArmsshallbeindependentoftheproductcarryingpipe.

Layoutandarrangement

ThedesignshallbesuchthatMarineArmscanbefullyopenedatfullcapacity.

MarineArmlengths,workingrange,clearancesandlocationofthetrunnionswivel-jointconnectionshallberesolvedbytheSELLER,basedontheoperatingenvelopedeterminedonthebasisofthedesigndatagiveninthedatasheets.

LengthsandclearancesshallbedefinedonthebasisthatMarineArmsmaybeoperatedsinglyandincombination,asindicatedinthedatasheet,forbothmaximumandminimummanifoldspacingasspecified.

Clearancesshallnotbelessthanfollowingvalues:

0.30mminimumclearancebetweenanypartofanoperatingMarineArmandfixedobjects,

0.60mminimumclearancebetweenanypartsofadjacentMarineArms.

Adiagramforworkingrange(withalarmsteps)shallbefurnishedbytheSELLER.

InthestoredpositionnoportionofthearmshallextendbeyondtheUnloadingplatformface.

TherangeofMarineArmmovementsshallallowtheoutboardjoint(tripleswivel)tobepositionedontheplatformformaintenanceallowingaminimumof1mclearspacearoundtheoutboardjoint.

Laddersandplatformsshallbeprovidedforaccesstothetrunnionandapexswivelsunlessspecifiedotherwiseinthedatasheet.Maintenanceaccessandladderswithsafetydevicealongrisersandinboardarmshallbeprovided.

Stressanalysis

SELLERshallanalysestressesanddeflectionsintheMarineArmandshipmanifoldsinallappropriatearmconditionsandspecifiedcounterweight.

Transientthermalstresses

Whenspecifiedinthedatasheet,inadditiontothestressanalysesundersteadythermalloads,SELLERshallperformastudyofthermalstressesintransientconditionsduringMarineArmscoolingdownoperations.

Thermalstressesintransientconditionsshallnotexceedthe"AllowableStressforThermalShocks"(ASTS).Thermalstressesshallbeanalysedasfollows:

Whenthegeometryoftheequipmentorofoneofitscomponentswhichcanbetreatedindependentlyfromtheunit,issimpleie.incaseof"thinshell"typestructures,itisacceptable,onthebasisofasimplifiedhypotheses,tofindananalyticalsolutiontotheequationsgoverningtheevolutionofthermalstresses,

Whentheequipmentgeometryiscomplex,itisrecommendedthatthethermalstressesareacalculationusingtheFiniteElementMethod.

Itisrecommendedthatcalculationresultsbevalidatedagainstmeasurements,orbycomparison,withaknownsolution.

SWIVELJOINTSANDSTRUCTURALBEARINGS

Liquidammoniaswiveljointshallbecartridgetype.

Whenlubricated,structuralswiveljointsshallbecapableofbeinglubricatedwithoutdismantling.Lubricationpointsshallbereadilyaccessibleinboththestoredandmaintenancepositions.Alubricantreliefportshallbeprovidedtosafeguardagainstoverpressurisation.

Exceptfortheoutboardjoint(triple)swivel,allswiveljointassembliesshallhavedevicestopermitrepackingwithoutdismantlingmajorsectionsofMarineArms.

Theswiveljointsshallhaveballorrollerbearings.

Theoutboardjoint(triple)swivel,whererequired,includingsupportdevice,couplerandvalving,shallbebalancedsothattheoutboardflangeremainsintheverticalplaneforallMarineArmattitudes.

Swivelsforliquidammoniaserviceshallbedesignedsothatexternalwatercannotpenetrateandfreezeinthejointsbetweenrotatingpartsoftheswivel.

SwiveljointsmechanicaldesignshalltakeintoaccountthesafetyfactorsdefinedbyPara.5.5and5.6ofOCIMF"DesignandConstructionSpecificationforMarineLoadingArms".

QUICK-CONNECT/DISCONNECTCARGOCOUPLERS(QCDC)

MarineArmsshallbeequippedwithQuickConnect/DisconnectCouplersforshipconnectionsasspecifiedintheMarineArmPackagedatasheets.

Minimum/maximumclosuretimesoftheQCDCcouplershallbeasperOCIMFTable11.

Aligningandcentringdevicesshallbefurnishedbasedonsizesoftheflangestowhichthecoupleristoconnect.

TheflangeratingoftheQCDCcouplershallbeASMEClass150.TheQCDCcouplershalladapttootherthanASMEflanges.

TheQCDCcouplershallholdaflangecovertopreventingressofdirtandwaterwhentheMarineArmisdisconnected.ThiscovershallremainattachedtotheQCDCcoupler(whentheQCDCcouplerisopenedaccidentally),butneednotbedesignedtowithstandtheloadingarmfluiddesignpressure.

LubricationofallmovingpartsshallbepossiblewithoutdismantlingtheQCDCcoupler.

ThestrengthoftheQCDCcouplershallbebasedonPara.6.5ofOCIMF"DesignandConstructionSpecificationforMarineLoadingArms".Thedesigngaugepressureshallbethemaximumof19kg/cm2orthespecifieddesignpressure.

SPOOLPIECES

SpoolpiecesshallbesuppliedbytheSELLERtoallowconnectionofMarineArmstovariousshipmanifoldconnections.

POWEREDEMERGENCYRELEASECOUPLINGS(PERC)

TheAmmoniaLoadingArmshallbeequippedwithahydraulicallypoweredemergencyreleasecoupling(PERC)neartheoutboardendoftheArmfittedbetweentwoballvalveshydraulicallyoperated.

ThePERCshallpermitacleanandsafeseparationoftheAmmoniaLoadingArmfromtheshipmanifold.ItisacceptablethatthesectionofthetripleswiveloutboardoftheemergencyreleasecouplingremainsattachedtotheShipmanifold,toberecoveredlater.

Accumulatorsorotherhydraulicmeansshallbeprovidedtoenableemergencyreleaseintheeventofelectricpowerfailure.

Intheeventofhydraulicorelectricpowerfailure,thePERCshallfailsafeandremainsecurelyclosed.

ThePERCshallbeautomaticallyactivatedwhenthearmreachesbeyondthelimitsoftheworkingrangereducedbyasafetymarginspecifiedinthedatasheet.ProvisionshallbemadeinthecontrolsystemtomoveautomaticallyandtoholdallMarineArmsclearoftheShipdeckandsideonactuationofthePERC.

ThePERCshallbecontrolledfromthejettycontrolroom,designatedoutsidecontrolpointsandbyhardwiresignalfromterminalESDsystem.

Thecontrolshallbeprotectedagainstaccidentaloperation(e.g.bysafetypinorcover).Thereshallbenoadditionalmanualmeansavailablefortriggeringthereleaseoftheemergencyreleasesystem.

ThearrangementofthePERCattheoutboardendofthearmshallbesuchthatthePERCandarmcomponentsremainingontheShipafteremergencyreleasewillnotfallontheShipdeckormanifoldserviceplatform.

ThehydrauliccylinderoperatingtheemergencyreleasethePERCshallbedoubleacting.

ThestrengthoftheERSshallbebasedonPara.7.1.21ofOCIMF"DesignandConstructionSpecificationforMarineLoadingArms".Inthiscase,thedesigngaugepressureshallbethemaximumof19kg/cm2orthespecifieddesignpressure.

DuringthereleaseoftheEmergencyReleaseCouplingthehydraulicpowersystemshallautomaticallyblocktheslewingmovementoftheMarineArmsduetowindloadandconsequentlypreventcollisionofthedisconnectedMarineArms.

ValvesshallbefiresafecertifiedinaccordancewithAPI607,ISO10497orBS6755andbesuitablefortheservice.HydraulicpipingshallcomplywiththefireproofingrequirementofISO10497orequivalent.

TheERSdoubleballvalvesshallbehydraulicallyactuatedandthedesignclosuretimeshallbe5

seconds,unlessotherwisespecifiedinthedatasheet.

ThecompletedisconnectionsequencefrominitiationtodisconnectionofthePERCshallnotexceed7seconds(SELLERtoconfirm)witha5secondsvalveclosuretime,unlessotherwisespecifiedindatasheet.

ThePERCreleasemechanismshallbeabletoensurecleanseparation,break-outofanyiceformation,andshallbecapableofbeingremovedfromtheShipandreassembledinthecoldcondition.

Stormlocks

AmechanicaltiedowndeviceremotelycontrolledmanuallyshallbeprovidedtokeeptheinboardMarineArmfrommovinginthestoredpositionduringhighwinds.EithermechanicalorhydrauliclocksshallbeprovidedtorestrictmovementofoutboardMarineArminthestoredposition.Hydrauliclockingshallbeaccomplishedbyusingseparatedmanualvalvesandnotthesystemcontrolvalves.

InthestoredandmaintenancepositionstheentireMarineArmshallbelockedagainstslewing.

ThestoredpositionlockingmechanismshallbedesignedtopreventthepossibilityofthemechanismengagingwhiletheMarineArmisintheoperatingmode.

Supports(Jacks)

PermanentlyattachedadjustablesupportshallbeincludedonallMarineArmswherethemanifoldstressesexceedthelimitsdefinedinstressanalysis.

ThemountingofthesupportontheMarineArmshallbesuchthatthesupportisfreetomovewiththepitchingmotionoftheShiptowhichthearmisconnected.

Straycurrentsprotectors

InsulatingflangesshallbeinsertedneartheoutboardendoftheMarineArmtoelectricallyisolatetheShipfromtheMarineArm.Theflangefaceshallnotbeinapermanentverticalorientation.Insulatingmaterialsusedshallensurethattheflangesareimpervioustomoistureandarecompatiblewiththeproductpropertiesandtemperaturesinvolved.

Thegasketusedintheinsulatingflangesshallprojectapproximately3mmintotheboreoftheflange.Theannularspaceattheflangeoutsidediametershallbefilledwithnonconductivematerialandthenwrappedtopreventpenetrationofmoisture.Paintshallnotbridgetheflangeannularspace.

Theelectricalresistanceoftheinsulatingflangeshallbegreaterthan10

000ohm,measuredbeforeandafterMarineArminstallation,betweentheshoresideflangeandtheoutboardendoftheMarineArmwhenfreelysuspended.

ThePURCHASERshallspecifyamethodofmeasuringtheelectricalresistance.
