DuetoSiebeldesignlimitations,third-partyMicrosoftOfficeapplicationsruninasingle-threadedenvironment.Thus,theDocumentServeriscapableofprocessingonlyasingledocumentatatimeontheserver.Toincreasethenumberofdocumentsprintedatanyonetime,itisrecommendedyouincreasethenumberofservers.

SetthefollowingSiebelApplicationObjectManagerparameters:

■MaxTasks.Setthisparameterto1.Ifthisparameterisgreaterthan1,anerrormessageissenttothelogfileasanalert.Processingoftherequestcontinues,butresultsareunpredictablewhentworequestsarriveatthesametime.

■HonorMaxTasks.SetthisparametertoTRUE.ThisparameteraffectsthequeuingprocessandtheperformanceoftheDocumentServer.

■ForavalueofTRUE,allrequeststotheDocumentServersqueueontheSRM_REQUESTtable;requestsarenotassignedtoaDocumentServeruntiloneisavailabletotaketherequest.Forinformationaboutsettingparameters,seeSiebelSystemAdministrationGuide.
