46、4, are part of an Olympic tradition which goes back almost 3,000 years. For more than Games were held, every four years, on hallowed ground near Mount Olympus, where the Greek gods were said to live.The Olympics ' brought together men from war -torn tribes and states in Greece and its colonies.
