RevisionT:Yesterday we learnt how to conduct an interview with a job applicant.And we have made some dialogues about interviews,too.Lets do some practice.Ill divide the class into groups of four:managers,receptionists,sales assistants,editors and journalists.Every student should find a different partner for the interview.You can choose any of the given situations to make a dialogue.Then Ill ask some pairs to act out your dialogues.(Allow the students enough time to prepare a dialogue and then ask some pairs to act out.)Suggested dialogue:(For Situation 4)EEditor of a newspaperIInterviewee (for the post of journalist)E:What did you study at school?I:I studied English,literature and some other subjects.E:Talk about your work experience,please.I:I worked in a news agency for half a year after I graduated from university.E:Why do you apply for this job?I:Because I like news reporting.Ive always been dreaming of being a jounalist.E:In which ways do you think you are suitable for this job?I:Im healthy and strong.I have skills with information.And I think my English will be very helpful.E:Good.I think you are suitable for the job.I would be glad to have you working with us.I:Really?Thank you.Ill try my best.Step ListeningT:Now lets listen to a dialogue.In this conversation an editor of a newspaper is talking about interviewing young people for jobs.Before you listen to the tape,lets look at the exercises on the screen.(Teacher shows the following on the screen.After going through the tasks,teacher plays the tape,and asks the students to do ideas and appealing information.Step WritingT:Now,everybody.Think about your future career and a job you would like to do,or a subject you would like to study.Please have a discussion.Then choose one of the questions in the first paragraph of the reading and write a personal statement for an application to an employer,organization or university.(Teacher asks a few students to read their writing
